So DePasquale began taking classes at OLLI, and he now leads the discussion when he teaches the History of the Vietnam War class that Belcher takes.

Belcher is almost giddy about the Vietnam class and says that she and her classmates are "spellbound" by DePasquale's lectures. She seems to perfectly fit Garcia's description of most lifelong learning students.

"Maybe they want to spice things up a little bit. They miss being constantly exposed to new information and constantly growing and learning. And once people get that spark again, it's really contagious. You're looking through a catalog and you're like, 'Whoa, I can take an astronomy class! I can learn Hebrew!'" Garcia says.
