Several colleges offer students or parents willing to pay a premium over the standard freshman year tuition an opportunity to lock in that tuition price for four years, no matter how much tuition is raised in the meantime. Of course, the colleges can, and typically do, raise other charges such as room and board. And there are other ways parents and students can protect themselves against tuition increases.
Unless otherwise noted, the premiums are above standard freshman rates for 2010.
