I favor those points stated for GRE.

1. Low cost. So, good for people who might want to try once more

2. Students can take any side. Of course, MBA costs a lot more than masters/doctoral courses. So, GRE is not just an easy way.

3. GRE is harder than GMAT. True, as far as english is concerned. Don't assume that math is very tough in GMAT and, hence, a right choice for B-School grads. GMAT math is not that much tough. I have scored 48/47 (51 in practice test) in GMAT Quant. Student has to be methodical to score in GMAT Quant.

4. MBA program has different approach so, it is hard to assume that people might go for it whimsically. On other hand, people, who cannot get admission because of low GRE score, can at least join some degree program (I assume that there are fair chances to get a masters/doctor degree from decent college). So, money is not totally lost.

5. GMAT is not ultimate to parameterize prospective MBA candidates. It's just another standardized test and people from different backgrounds and demographies perform differently so, by no way, I can assume that all other conditions are similar.

I hate GRe exam because it is damn hard. The school study is not related either, why would you challenge students that much I don't get it.

The time I took the exam, I did a lot of study a few books like Kaplan www.kaplan.com, Princeton Review and a vocabulary building tool called myvobu.com, they all worked out well. I had good score from all sections.

good luck if you are taking this exam.

ETS holds a monopoly over GRE administration in the U.S., so of course the ETS COO is going to speak favorably of the expanded use of GRE scores.
