We have rolling admission and most applicants can expect a decision between January 1 and May 1. However, once an applicant's file is complete, we endeavor to provide a final decision within a two- to six-week time span.
8. Which firms/organizations recruit heavily from your school? Which ones hire the highest percentage of your graduates?
Employers from all over the country recruit here. Members of the class of 2009 took bar exams in 22 states.
9. What are some of the most common mistakes that applicants make that hurt their chances of being accepted?
They fail to clearly or adequately explain obvious red flags in their application: for example, an obvious decline in their undergraduate GPA during one or more semesters; low LSAT/UGPA scores; stretches of time not accounted for in their résumé or essays; failing to disclose or adequately explain character and fitness issues; failing to proofread their work and sometimes submitting essays to us that were intended for another law school.
10. Can you describe the archetypal student for your school?
We seek students who have developed strong writing skills and who have demonstrated a serious interest in and commitment to studying the law. Our students are well rounded, have taken rigorous undergraduate courses and have also gained experience and shown leadership through their prior activities including, for example, employment, extracurricular engagements, internships or study abroad.
