... said the MSU grad. Who cares which schools are going to space if they can't give a good education to their students?

It's impossible to rank colleges. They are too complex as institutions. There are colleges with engineering programs that play key roles in placing rovers, etc. on the moon; other schools are on the cutting edge of medical research yet these schools don't have decent rankings. The rankings are a marketing tool for USNews to sell its magazine. What this proves is that millions of Americans will believe anything such as buying homes they can't afford is a smart decision and providing big tax breaks for the rich will lead the whole nation to prosperity. The con is alive and well in America.
