Sadly there are very few openings if one wishes to be a Rhodes scholar. The good news is that there are quite a number of alternatives to being a Rhodes scholar.

Interested in focused research on amphibians? Become a Toads Scholar!

If your interests lie more in the area of electrical motivational tools, be a Goads Scholar!

Maybe your passion is in surpassing 128-bit cybersecuriry -- apply as a Codes Scholar.

Convinced that world peace starts with frozen desserts? You qualify as an Ala Modes Scholar!

The Rhodians are not alone in history and literature. Imagine being an Odes Scholar!

Help the babies of the world through diaper tolerancing research. Be a Loads Scholar.

Or perhaps the study of interstate transportation facilities -- the (ahem) Roads Scholar!

It would be more appropriate to provide shelter food and necessity to the starving masses. whether it be in the Congo or the United States of America.

I just a high school graduate from the world of hard-knocks.

Be kind to your neighbor.

It has been said that a rhodian is ruling class training. Why not make this curriculum more accessible to the rest of the world. Why not make online courses out of it. Is this really a dangerous thing for everyone to know?

Dear Barney:

Thanks so much for your revisionist viewpoint of history. I'm sure the world will be left a much richer legacy from Robert Mugabe and his minions. Easy to castigate 19th century leaders from your 21st century perch. Please share more of your enlightened perspectives, perhaps you would care to travel to Zimbabwe and spew your invectives amongst the starving masses.

Rhodes was a bigot and a racist. Like F. did he care for the meak and the weak when he pursed his bullion. What has the Rhodes scholarship delivered to the world since his departure, another big FA. Why all the praise, when rule of thumb is that education should be free to all children under the so-called constitution of the United Nations. What is the purpose of this news/educational post.
