Government Investigates High School Diploma Mills

Pennford has no contact address, which is an alarm bell, and its purported "accreditor" National Accreditation Bureau for Alternative Education is not recognized by the USDOE, which means that no college will accept the HS diploma. Even if it slips through by chance, expect a talk with admissions once they find out.

My step son just recently took 4 on line tests in math, language arts, social studies and science. He passed all 4 parts and they

told him that they would send him his high school diploma from Penn-Ford Highschool as soon as he sends them $227.00 within 10 days. Can't find an address or location for this on line highschool could this be a con?

Why doesn't the GAO name these "colleges"? This practice has been going on for years, but the government acts as if it's news to them! What a farce.

There is a sickness i n this country and it has been getting worse due to the fact that student, in general, are learning less and this effects the country as a whole!

When I applied to do the census in our local area we took a test to qualify us. I guess the goverment is so anxious to get 'volunteers' that the proctor gave us all the answers priior to our taking the test. This was 10 years ago.

Likewise, in college there was a massive amount of cheating and the professors turned the other cheek. After all, if the students failed the professors would look bad! I learned that you MUST cheat to get ahead!!

Thank GOD for ciollege!

The "ATB" thing is a load of fraud. "Career" colleges should not be able to touch financial aid with a ten foot pole in the absence of a real high school diploma or a real GED----period.

I once knew a "career" college that paid its recruiters three times what it paid teachers with masters degrees. Does that tell you anything about how this industry works?
