Kevin- I agree wholeheartedly that UT gets screwed every year, as far as undergraduate rankings are concerned; even so, UT is not necessarily ranked poorly. I believe anything in the top 50 is most obviously prestigious. But does UT deserve to be so near to that number 50? No! U.S. News: Like people have been saying for the past several years, redo your methodological approach.

A great institution such as UT Austin with thousands of classes per semester cannot be compared with small schools such as Rice University or Princeton University. Yet, every year, US News produces an erroneous list comparing Ivy League Colleges, large public institutions and everything in between. Of course they sell magazines but the rankings are subjective and highly misleading to seniors in high school. UT has always ranked low in these rankings because they are designed to elevate small Northeastern private institutions. US News and its editors should be banned from UT Austin in my opinion for the damage that it does to UT's academic reputation.
