I will be graduating in December in AE and the jobs for new graduates are just not there. There are quite a few for experienced individuals but no one wants to train a new AE.

Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne Florida has an excellent program in MAE... http://coe.fit.edu/mae/

The Florida Tech faculty is top notch and the school has an awesome reputation and lots of connections to businesses in aerospace here at the cape. With the way the industry is going, the new talent will be needed and the Florida Tech program will absolutely guarantee that the student is prepared to pursue a career in industry or government. You could go practicing engineer or move on to graduate work in engineering, applied mechanics or mathematics. The beautiful Florida weather and beaches like 5 miles from campus are no small bonus also. :) SRSLY check it out if you are looking for new educational opps...they do emplyer reimbursement if your job pays for classs... I love it!

If you really want to be competitive, get a degree in Mechanical and Aero. The fact that your resume says ME degree on it will open up a lot of doors, the Aero degree is just icing on top. If you solely get the AE degree, and want a minor, get one in Aero electronics or CS.

My dream is to become an Aerospace Engineer. I was thinking that I could get a major in Computer Engineering and a Minor in Aerospace Engineering. Do you think that it would be better for me to get a minor in Aerospace Electronics, Computer Science, or Software Engineering, or get the minor in AE?
