We have recently purchased new textbooks at our school and would like to know if schools in Texas could use our old textbooks to replace theirs lost in the hurricane. We have textbooks in good shape for high school English (9th grade, 10th grade, British Literature and American Literature). Does anyone have a contact for us so we can determine where best to send these materials?

Thanks much!

We are collecting cothing, shoes, books, art supplies, toys,

dolls, puzzels etc. for children and their parents. All of these items are of perfect-use now quality. All items will be brought to Galveston clean and ready to wear. Many items are placed in clean zip lock plastic bags to insure cleanlienss.

If we could coordinate a day each week that we can bring all of our items to one or several of your schools for the children and their families to select for themselves. We will do all of the work (e-mailing you a flyer to pass out, setting up and maning the tables outside of your schools or the most convienent location you suggest to us for the parents & children to reach us.

Please call me, Candy Dill at (936)537-1036 or e-mail me at candydill123l@cebridge.net or Angie Hatcher (936)537-2204 or

angieh123@suddenlink.net.

We plan to come to Galveston this week to bring our first load.

Please let us know if there is anything at all that we can assist you or the families with.....we are many.

I teach in Waynesfield, Ohio, and and our students are participating in a Read-a-thon to help a school replace books lost during Hurricane Ike. We are interested in a school close to our size as we are rather small with approximately 300 students in K-5.

Our Right-to-Read theme this year is: "Read for Those in Need". If you would like us to help out please reply to the address below.

I live in Ft. Worth, near a local elementary school. Feeling called to help, I would like to go to my local school and speak with the Principal about a book drive to help a school affected by the hurricane. I would like to go to my school with a specific school and contact name. Could anyone help me with this from your area?
