Hey Michael even though at times we made fun of each other you were still cool. Do well the years ahead and remember: 'all things are possible".

Hi Michael,
I am so proud of you, probably just as much if not more than your mom. I've known you before you were born and watched you grow to a handsome, intelligent young man. I knew you would do well and go far with a mother like yours who has always had your best interest in mind. I am so proud of you and of course I will follow your accomplishments as long as I live. Don't forget my piece of signed art work. The commission still stands.
You are loved,

R. Michael Strickland is one of thousands of black young men who are largely unheralded by the press. The entire staff of Mid-City Pediatrics in Cincinnati is very proud of him and the many others like him who are forging their way in life. It is good to see a national magazine acknowledge their accomplishments.
I just ask that all of the talented young brothers help another one, at least one, along the way. Stay focused and do good works.
You have our eternal love.

Michael, what fun to see this video and remember the little Michael that was in my kindergarten class so very long ago. You were an eager learner then, and it is so nice to see that your eagerness to acheive success has not diminished. I knew you were going to do very well back then, and you have fulfilled my expectations!! Continue to make us all proud! Good Luck and have fun!! Love to you, Mrs. Engel Matey

Congratulations. Columbia is a great choice. During my college days, I spent time (too much time) there. Enjoy the City and the intellectual rigor. And if you are a conscious brother who is interested enhancing your interest, commitment and contribution to your community, I encourage you to seek out the good Alpha brothers of Eta Chapter. Also, make sure to visit Liberation Bookstore (in Harlem) and Revolutionary Books (near NYU in the Village). You'll become a regular customer. I am very excited for and proud of you and sister for the brave steps you both took in choosing Ivy League schools.

Congratulations Michael,
Trevon and I are so very proud of you! I can appreciate your decision to obtain out-of-state education/experience. It will make you a stronger individual. From one engineer to her future-engineer nephew, success is yours.
