How is it taht Rutters University in New Brunswick, NJ is a Tier 1 school and Ruters in Newark is a Tier 3 School? How is the ranking vastly different, why? Is the Rutgers in New Brunswick better. The price of tuition certainly isn't better on the Newark Campus. The Law School and the Nursing school both are considered very competitive are in Newark. They don't rate with the New Brunswick Colleges?

I see a "tier" of 3 next to a school but don't know what these means exactly. I assume Tier 1 is Ivory League. Question how many tiers? Is there a list of schools by tier, which I believe would be very helpful.

What are the predominate catagories for each tier.

I am a HR Manager and people come to me for such information.

Thanks,

Jill Fiedler

How are tiers defined? quality? size?

Tier 4 school's don't even have a score. I believe that this school looks at only the top schools in a scruntinative way. The others I think are just categorized as not good enough. Some schools I see listed here as Tier 4 are much better than that.

Besides I got a degree from Midwestern State University in Texas, considered here to be Tier 4, but it didn't affect my prospects at employment or getting into better grad schools
