Schools Battle Rising Gas and Food Prices

I agree it will burn out the student during the day. And the 5th day would not be used for detention or tutoring or anything like considering the point is to cut costs. The NATIONAL work week for the average adult is Monday- Friday. Shortening the work week will increase everyon'e cost of living who has kids. I can assure you with cost of groceries (not in bulk like at school), gas to take them to and from a daycare, an daycare itself, it will cost each individual parent 4 times as much as it would cost the school to stay open one more day per student.

Is this what our country and economy is resorting to? That we would sacrifice our kid's future for a last resort? Kids, whether you like it or not, are our future and we are coming to our last resort...very very scary

my opinion about the article is kinda negative, i think that students should'nt have four days of school because, it takes's away learningtime. As for buying nutrishous lunches, I think they should and they shouldnt buy less nutrishous food. Because if the kids want healthy lunches then they would just bring their own because, its not the schools resposibility to give healthy lunches.

I think that students should not have only 4 days of school because regardless of them going to school longer, it takes's away valuable learningtime. As for buying less nutrishous lunches, I think they should and they shouldnt buy less nutrishous lunches. This is because if the kids want health lunches then they would just bring their own because realy it isnt the schools fault to give healthy lunches. I think they shouldnt because at the same time kids deserve a lunch that can keep them going doing the day.

earlier in summer the gasoline fuel was 4$ a gallon and 1800 students made 145,000 on fuel, food, and substitude teachers. they make money just make gas go higher and food on prices.

I think that we should have a 4 day week becasue then the kids could get their homework done and be able to serve detention on the extra day and it could also be used as a work makeup day if you missed any days. Pollution is increasing also because of all of the bus fuel and car fuel driving the kids to school so much but if one day was taken out of the it would probably help out alot and plus fuel is getting very expensive in some place that the budgets are running low to keep the buses operating.

4 day week = ridiculous. Why? Having a 4 day week equals longer days, longer days equals that the student will burn out and not pay attention faster so when friday, saturday and sunday come, in stead of focusing on homework, they will be asleep. Exausted after an excrutiatingly long day.

i would like to have a 4 day school week but i wouldnt want the day to be longer. i dont think that i could stay at school longer than we do now. if we had a 4 day week i think that stidents would not hate school as much only if we didnt have to stay at school longer. if we did have a 4 day school week then that would just give the students a extra day to run around the streets but they would also have more time to do homework. over all a would like having a 4 day school week.
