"President Obama's embrace of gay marriage will help ensure he becomes a one-term president"

Benjamin Clark of WI 6:47PM December 18, 2012

We should not have gay marriage; most of Americans clearly don't want it; most Republicans don't want it and even most voters of Obama don't want it as Democrats; many of which I know. I know alot of Obama voters who do not want gay marriage at all. When you consider that 50 percent voted for Romney; and many Obama voters don't want gay marraige then it is obvious that over 50 percent don't want gay marriage. Anywhere between 55 to 80 percent of Americans don't want gay marriage; really; why do you really think the owner of Chick Fil A quadrupled his sales. I'm not trying to be mean or hateful or anything like that but I and most Americans don't want that type of marriage; clearly!

yes- we should have gay marriage its not like anything is going to change or there going to get "special" treatment its still all the same as regular marriage

Also I can see by the ranking on your page that 60 people like your ideas while 120 people dislike them. That is a solid 2:1 disagree:agree ratio. That is fine. I am not saying your opinions are wrong; they are yours and you are entitled to them. However to state that this is what the majority of Americans think is not an opinion, it is a fact, and it is incorrect. You shouldn't lie, it makes Jesus cry.

Wow, ya blew this one.

Since Obama did actually get re-elected, by a fairly large margin in both the electoral and popular vote, and several states did elect to legalize marriage for people who are gay, by fairly large margins, it seems that it is you that most Americans disagree with, not the right for two people to get married.

But that aside. If you don't want people to get married then that is your issue and that is fine, people have different opinions (yours apparently is different than the majority of Americans but that is OK). The question is however:

If GOD is the author of marriage and not government, then why are YOU IN SUPPORT of the government having control over who gets married? Aren't YOU the one that is saying that the government should control marriage? Shouldn't marriage be between the couple and GOD? Or do you really want to have the government and you dictating to the public who can and cannot get married? It's the last one, right?

screw all yall thoughts !

everyone has the right to be with the person that makes them happy, and you are NO ONE to take that away from anyone!

lily of CA 2:18PM October 18, 2012

It is clear that Obama may not have any choice in the matter of gay marriage if the Constitution is adhered to and if Americans rally behing LAW which determines eligibilty requirements to include " both parents of the candidate to be natural born citizens of the US ". Neither Obama nor Romney qualify. Both have a father born in another country. The only qualified candidate among the top three is Ron Paul. I believe that a Ron Paul / Allen West ticket sounds better to me all the time.
