Police denotes a group. Groups do not have rights--individuals do. Therefore, police as a group do not have rights.

Why shouldn't they be tested? Is their privacy more important than mine? I work in healthcare and had to be drug-tested before being hired. And I can still be tested at any time. Why should handouts not come with some requirements on the part of the receiver?

so is the drug test of teenagers in high school, but the school still mandates it. Tell me why that is. A teenager such as I, who does not do drugs, whould not have to suffer because of the down falls of the others around me. Am I right?

Invasion of privacy. Oh Well! If they need a handout from others they need to have their privacy invaded. I use to be a nurse for a substance abuse place until I just could not tolerate the types that would seek temporary help. Their sad sad stories of how they are desperate for help because it is court ordered but they are really not serious. Some have joked about how they do not have to work any more. Who wants to work and make a couple of hundred dollars a week when they can fake mental illness and injuries and receive disability, food stamps and free healthcare from Tri County. Well lets add it up.

On the low side $600 for fake disability, $300 for food stamps and 1 prescription of Benzodiazepines. Lets say they are prescribed to take 2 tablets per day= 60 tabs for the month and street value is $10 per tab = another $600 per month a total of $1500 per month and that is on the low side many get several prescriptions. Pretty good for not working. And what I hated most was not being able to report because of patient confidentiality laws. Just makes me sick.

"Invasion" of privacy for public money is fair. The gov wouldn't be seeking out people to test, people put themselves up for scrutiny when they come asking. A drug test is only invasive if your on drugs! "It's none of your business if I'm on crack, just give me the money"....really?

I'm sorry, I fail to see this as an intrusion into the personal lives of those on welfare. Was it an intrusion when my current employer had me take a drug test? What about every other job I've had since 1998? I had a choice, I could take the job or find another. People on welfare can have the same choice.

welfare is...but drug testing in the work place is not an intrusion of the America way of life because it's private....really...what a crock

Participation in welfare is voluntary! On what planet do you live??? In many cases people get more money on welfare than they would get paid at a job. Millions and millions of people jobs ARE to beat the system. They are always one step of the law just as most criminals are!! You need to step out of your, assuming, upper class house/neighborhood and step into reality!!! Good God are you clueless!!!

I have had to use the "system" in the past and would have gladly given some urine. I had nothing to hide. If I have to take a urine test to get a job, they have to take one to get welfare.

You can't complain about drugs being out of control in this country and then let people live off your tax payers money(welfare) and buying drugs with the money they're receiving...........
