Back to argument

What a bigoted and sexist pack of lies. Just like VAWA itself.

Huxley of FL 2:31PM March 22, 2012

Please vote support the VAWA

priscilla moree of WY 1:32PM March 22, 2012

Why is it not a single of the yes responses even acknowledges, let alone addresses the very legitimate concerns raised, not only by the main article, but by many of the people discussing the VAWA reauthorization? Has it become acceptable to pass laws without considering the negative effects such a law can produce? Has being critical, and assuring laws are balanced, fair and just become a taboo, just because the primary beneficiary are feminists? Is this what feminist equality looks like?

Mark Neil 1:13PM March 22, 2012

Yes! Support VAWA if for no other reason than it sends a message to abuses that our society has zero tolerance for these acts of inhumanity! Talk about killing the family!!!

SRLove of TN 11:36AM March 22, 2012

50% of domestic violence perpetrators are women. Why is it the Violence Against Women Act? 60% of child abusers are biological mothers. Why does the VAWA say that its intent is to protect women and children?

James Christianson of WA 10:19AM March 22, 2012

Ms. Tucker is an angry feminist and an IDIOT! She's worried she's going to lose her funding! Ms. Tucker I suggest you hurry and build a Domestic Violence Shelter for Men because you're about to lose a whole lot of federal funding. Your "free ride" is over!!

American Fathers Liberation Army of FL 8:54AM March 22, 2012

If you had experienced violence as a woman, wouldn't you want to have access to programs that assist you in obtaining a protection order against your abuser as well as other resources like temporary shelter, not to mention programs that train the court and other personnel you would deal with in that process. Or would you rather be told by a judge and everyone at the courthouse that your abuser hurting you is a "family matter" that they cannot get involved in?

Negi of CA 12:49AM March 22, 2012

Have you noticed that virtually ALL of the people posting here in support of VAWA make a living off this industry? Doesn't that tell you something?

Ivanka Klaar of NY 11:31PM March 21, 2012

the VAWA is a oxymoron the woman that vote for it are saying, YES we want our sons to be told that they can't be fathers and our rights to be grandparents to be taken away...

they forget that woman have sons those sons grow to be men and start a family then if they marry a hateful woman the act (law) they voted in will destroy them.. its stupid....

makes me so freaking mad... where the hell is the common since ? don't they know this law the way its set up will destroy the very person who voted for it?

it effects everyone the only true victims here are the sexiest towards men which is discrimination and there kids,

grrr its so pathetic that you all are straight lining this and only seeing a very small picture and not seeing the much bigger picture...

to me it goes to show how much arrogance we have representing the public, don't you see WOMAN are seeing this and are fighting against it that really should be your red flag...

anthony eggleston of MO 11:24PM March 21, 2012

By all means, renew VAWA, but please drop the provision that allows women to get a restraining order in an ex-parte hearing. I'm afraid to go on a date with women in my neighborhood, for fear that I'll be forced out of my home, and I'm afraid to date women that I work with, for fear that i'll be forced out of my job. It's hard to meet anyone, once you've ruled out everyone that you work with, and anyone who lives nearby.
