how? making more and more family's get separated, allowing mothers who lie get away with it? preventing children from seeing there fathers as a revenge tactic as a way to "Get Even" how is that fair? all it does is destroy this nation, all am seeing in your statement is screw innocent until proven guilty, screw we are all equal, and screw the future of this nation... by allowing this act to stay your saying to all woman lets spread a cancer across our nation and say its ok to lie, cheat, and be destructive cause the blame will always be on the men not on the woman, show me where woman are not destructive .... what kinda example are you trying to set for our kids ? cause that's who this will effect in our future generations... i say NO NO and HELL NO to the destructiveness of this act to our nation do not allow sexiest be a issue... and if you still disagree then change all the sections that has women in it and replace it with men. and see how it feels to be in our shoes..

be fair am not saying that men dont do stuped things but you cant say women don't...

This is sad to say but in reality i really hope your son marrys a witch of a woman who uses this to her advantage to make him look like a horrable SOB so then and only then after your deniend being able to see your grand kids, and your son is no longer aloud to be a father you will fully understand that this law will and does effect every man and woman a like..

so nieve to think this only effects a hand full of people anyone who votes for this is failing to see what will happen how it could effect there own life.. there only seeing it as a way to get even with someone but what makes me so sad is what about the kids?

how do they get to see the family memebers of that person that is effected by this how are they going to be able to see grandma and grandpa, ants, uncles, cousins, and so forth... has anyone here really thought this out ?

how are you going to sit there and tell a 8 year old kid that there no longer able to see there loved ones ? just based off of a sexiest and bias reason...

then who will be the monsters? trust me the boogieman is real and those kids will know who thy are..

grr look at the stats of what a fatherless home does to our children and then realize the cancer your spreading kids that are denied access to there dads or moms build up hate then who do they take it out on? until this is realized abuse will never be stopped you will only spread it...

Why over the years of VAWA have the numbers of men killed by their spouses dropped like a rock while the numbers of women killed by their spouses dropped much less? Because VAWA has funded what the research is now calling "3rd party abuse" when the government funded organizations take over the abuse of victims (mostly males) in the domestic violence system. The women, who might have been likely to kill their male spouse are now relieved of this since they are paraded as victims and the men they had been abusing are now being abused by the VAWA funded domestic violence industry through courts, jail, separation from their children, protective orders etc. What a system. Please dismantle this travesty and hold responsible those who have promoted such misandry and hatefulness.

I hope your wife puts you through what I have been through. Do you know she could walk out the door just for being angry with you and ruin you? She can make false allegations against you saying you did something to her or your kids and you would be ruined and never get to see your children again. Would that change your mind? Do you really think men are the only humans with the potential for violence? If so, you are to blind to be a member of our gov't and should be removed. Wake up and if you must make more laws, which I don't think we need, do not show a bias toward anyone.

sexiest show me where a woman has never killed anyone just for the hell of it, there are a dozen, a woman burns down a friends home to get even just cause of facebook, a woman puts her child in a car seat and drowns her kid by pushing her car off into a lake, or sets her home on fire with her kids inside... and your worried about her safety only what a jack ass what has happened to equal rights ?

It is absolutely gender-biased. 200 studies affirm that most DV is mutual, and among young couples is more often initiated by women against men. Millions of men have been ousted from their homes and kept from their children simply on the basis of accusation without any evidence, and women tell more lies about it than men.

WAVA is not needed a there are enough other laws about violence. If it is still demanded it should be totally REFORMED to be gender-neutral

How can any leader support something (which I tracked since the 1990's) which my own senator Hatch supports not out of ignorance but out of evil and lies? VAWA defies the constitution for starters by setting up a special class of favored people and defies all justice to the falsely accused. This is based on lies that they are the victims and the lie that VAWA is your savior. Hundreds of studies show that fathers are the most protective and stabilizing partners and family members, but VAWA vilifies them, lies about them and creates hate and lie-based hysteria to break up families, not just hurting 10's of millions of innocent men, but destroying their children and even hurting the women which VAWA doesn't really protect anyway. Most VAWA funds are squandered and used to promote false allegations by spreading hate- propaganda, lies and hysteria as Marx himself promoted against men and the family to bust down society to more surely and easily implement Marxism. This is the same plan documented by those who put VAWA forward in the first place. Is this what you really want? You can't get into this crap past ankle deep without discovering all of this.

So, any leader supporting VAWA is either very fresh and ignorant, or fully evil and fully informed as most are. Which are you, ignorant or evil?

The Violence against womens act is a horribly anti-male law crafted by feminists to make sure male victims of domestic violence dont recieve the same protections female victims do. DV shelters still refuse to take men in or boys over the age of 12.

Worst of all the law allows women to get restraining orders based on NO proof at all and get the man thrown out of his own home and arrested if he violates the restraining order. These restraining orders in certain states dont even have to require the male to be notified of the order. They go into affect as soon as the female fills one out. So if the male was on a buisness trip and comes back TO HIS OWN HOME while the female is their and she has a restraining order against him he will be arrested even when he doesnt even know that their is a protective order against him in the first place.

Feminists love this law for that reason by sensible people shouldnt expecially senators that are supposed to be for ALL people not just women.

NO... do not reauthorize! This law is for feminist power and is not for the good of all. domestic violence goes both ways and it is abused by the feminist groups to keep men away from their children and as a way for women to gain complete control. This is horrible. Make a difference in the world of helping to stop domestic violence by supporting the PVRA... Partner Violence Reduction Act. No man should hit a woman as no woman should hit a man.

No- this law does more harm than good because 1) it violates equal protection clause of the 14th amendment. the proof is in the name of the act, need I say more. 2) Domestic violence is not a cookie cutter issue. Under VAWA, states are not just strengthened but even encouraged to intervene in the private lives of normally honest families. A woman can get angered by their mans acts or omissions and use physical force but men are not even allowed to use constitutionally and legal defenses to mitigate the violence. They are thrown in jail, property taken away, distance from their children because the presumption is they are the perpetrator. There is no opportunity for men in this country to do the right thing by using the amount of force necessary to prevent or stop violent behavior in their families. They are helpless to save themselves or their families.

The law should be repealed in its present form and re-enacted as the prevention of family violence act. Make it serve the needs of families over women and hold abusers of the existing laws accountable for their share of the violence in families.
