Dont sell your soul Mr. Carter!

It's so not worth it. The government is way too big and wants to know/control everything in everyone's life. We should be shrinking their power, not increasing it. Look at the numbers, less than 11% of Americans approve of Congress? (and the 11% that did approve were either high on shrooms or being sarcastic). What's going on here?

And you really think of would be wise to give these people power even of our free speech on the internet? Always vote no for all Internet power grabs.

This is as close to a free democracy that we will ever get.

Mr. Carter,

This article is a joke, right? I cannot believe the words that you have published in this most absurd article.

There is no need for this legislation, or any similar legislation. American's need to educate themselves before using the internet - or they simply should NOT USE the internet.

Either way, each individual need to understand that they are using the internet at THEIR OWN risk. The government simply has no authority, and should never have the authority, to take care of us in this capacity.

"but there is no single, simple solution that can make the problem go away"

I disagree, if what one is trying to protect information from being assailed on the internet, don't make it available via the internet. Just because it's there, doesn't mean everything has to be on the internet.

Your advocacy of private and public working together is a nice image. But this information being shared about "threats" has no other definition, therefore could be applied to a wide range of activity or all internet activity. What you are advocating is a surveillance state akin to 1984 and Harrison Bergeron.

This bill only spells disaster for everyone but those who will control the information.

CISPA IS BOGUS FALSE GOVT ATTEMPT AT CONTROLLING THE ENTIRE INTERNET THE SAME WAY IT CONTROLLS CABLE TELEVISION NEWS. ALL ARGUMENTS ARE UNDER THE GUISE OF FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY. DON'T FALL FOR IT!
