High taxes on cigarettes have helped to bring the smoking rates in the US down dramatically. Any smoker will tell you he'd be smoking a lot more if cigarettes were cheaper. But they aren't

Along with high taxes, restrictions on smoking indoors and in public places has made it even harder for smokers to light up whenever they get the urge.

The reduction in smoking has had positive affects on American's health and on medical costs...which we all have to share
