First of, why is polygamy between three or more consenting 18+ year old adults inherently bad? You made the argument; yours is the burden of proof.

It is currently legal for me to have sex with as many people of any gender, religion, or ethnicity as I wish, as long as they are over 18 years of age, consent to the sex (not being under the influence of drugs or a mental condition that would impair judgement) and not more closely related to me by blood than my first cousins. Even when married, my wife and I can join an orgy, allow another person to live with us so that we can have sex with them, and we can have children with other people without legal consequence, as long as we are both aware and consent to the activity. Even if we aren't and don't, a nasty divorce will likely ensue, but nobody will go to prison for adultery.

Society has already reached the point you have warned will come if gay marriage is made illegal. It isn't about gay people living together and having sex; they already do that. It isn't about people not taking marriage as a serious, lifelong commitment; they already don't. It isn't about children growing up in fractured homes; they already do. It's about gay people having the same financial and legal rights as straight people. Everything else is already done.

If you want to live by the Bible word for word, you want to live in a country where interfaith marriage is forbidden, women are counted among the spoils of war to be divided among troops, and your local Wal-Mart bag boy should be put to death for working on the Sabbath.

If you want to protect marriage as an institution, work to make it so that obtaining a divorce is not finalized until the couple goes through extensive marriage counseling, and eliminate no-fault marriage. Don't keep other people out of it because you can think of a few cases where homosexuals would rather be polyamorous than monogamous.

One has to only turn to Mexico City and what happened when Same-Sex Marriage was legalized in their city. The Two-Year Marriage Contract was enacted for heterosexuals. After two-years of marriage, if the couple wish to disolve the marriage, they're single again. It's legalized sexual promiscuity.

If one believe there is ANY relevance to the name Mary, as in the Virgin Mary, wife of Joseph, mother of Jesus Christ, as there is to Marry, to wed. Then one must recognize a impropriety in decorum, to the use of the term in Same-Sex Marriage.

Think about the couple itself. If you believe that marriage is only for a contribution to society-- well then I don't think you know what marriage is. Sure, same sex marriage leads to having children who will eventually be put into work. But if you consider the growing population itself, we really don't need more people. It's strange to think about but VERY true.

I'd really like to see some of these "reams of data" the author tries to cite. Here is a fact: same-sex marriage has absolutely no effect on the strength of opposite-sex marriages. Here is another fact: the author is a scientifically proven idiot. Why should you accept my assertions? Because I said there were facts to back them up, just like the author did here. Do I expect you to take my word for it? No, and in the same respect I'm not accepting what this guy tells me is fact without some supporting evidence (and neither should you). Most opponents to same-sex marriage would be surprised if they did some research and made up their own minds instead of parroting what some left-wing conservative is told to say by his Catholic pastor.

From what Im getting on here they are saying that the only reason people are able to get married is the simple fact that they can reproduce for our future. What about people who are sterile? They cant reproduce yet they are still able to get married. If they are sterile then they have to go through the same process as gays would to have a child. So why cant gays get married? Its supposed to be a ceremony showing that two people are in love and have fully committed their lives to each other. I bet if they would legalize gay marriage worldwide, there would be more people of the opposite sex getting a divorce then those of the same sex. Unless the government is only thinking about money. It makes no sense to me. If you are going to try and bring up the bible into the reason why gay marriage is not legal then that would be contradicting why they dont study it in schools or at most jobs. Everyone has their own religion and beliefs so the bible has nothing to do with gay marriage. The only reason they wont legalize it is because they are scared of what they dont understand. We cannot help how we feel. This is our deformity. People are born with their nose near their ear or their head too big or too small. Birth marks covering their face or body and they feel uncomfortable going into the public eye because of how people look at them. They look at them in disgust because they dont understand why those people dont look normal. Well neither are we. We were born in the wrong gender and we would love to get it fixed just as much as they would.So how are we so different than anyone else in this world? If you took the time to sit down and talk to some of these people you would find that you have a lot in common and you will be touch by the story of their lives and what they have to go through to feel like they are they same on the outside as they are on the inside. I just wish more people would understand that.

It would seem that this line of reasoning oversimplifies the question at hand. Marriage, from a religious moral context, MAY exist for propagation and ensuring a stable environment in which to raise children. However, if one were to accept this view, then the institution is already highly in question with the divorce rates skyrocketing, and out of wedlock births increasing as well.

There is also another purpose of marriage, and that is as a civil contract to secure legal rights and protections. One may participate in the latter conception, without believing or participating in the former. This can be seen with couples who choose not to marry in the church, and in many cases not to procreate, but rather to secure the legal rights and protections of marriage, which have little or nothing to do with procreation and raising a family. Spousal privilege, kinship, spousal benefits, power of attorney, ease of joint ownership of property, and numerous other legal benefits come simply by going to the courthouse and obtaining a marriage license.

The 14th Amendment states that:

"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

Simply put, marriage is a protection of the law in all 50 States, homosexuals are persons, and laws that restrict homosexuals from being able to marry do abridge the rights of US citizens, unconstitutionally.

With obama's repeal of DADT in the military, and obama's nomination of a homosexual lesbian to the supreme court, full blown homosexuals have come out of the closet. When will the bisexuals, cross-dressers/gender dysphoric trasvestite fetishist, exhibitionist, fetishist, frotteurist, sexual masochist, sexual sadist, voyeurist, individuals with gender identity disorder, and animalism deviates......also come out of their closets?

In America today God and his church is a "dying breed." More specifically bible based churches and huge organized religions such as the Catholic church and Southern Baptist churches. There are several issues as the cause of decay of religion.

The first issue is tied to the words liberty and freedom. Most American ex-church goers have been led to believe that their constitutional freedom means you can do whatever you want, to whomever you want, whenever you want. That is erroneous. The answer is no, we can not do whatever we wish. We are bound by rules and regulations. As humans we are faulty and have mental and physical limitations which most will deny. Constitutional catch 22 is that freedom comes with rules and regulations.

The second issue is tied to God's moral and behavioral rules and regulations. A true Christian church is bound by moral standards and standards of decency. Individuals and families must adhere and live by these standards which are the basics included in God's ten commandments. Those that have dropped God like an egg on the floor have done so because they believe the constitution gives them the right to do as they wish.....and see God as imposing more boring rules which they don't like.

American families who have left the church lack standards of morality and standards of decency by which to raise their children. Who is going to provide these families with moral and decency directions? Neither the state or federal government, nor the supreme court can do that.

Remember, humans prefer to do as they wish. Humans like freedom, however total freedom would mean living without any rules or regulations. Belonging to the animal kingdom, humans react primarily to provide their physical needs.....water, food, and shelter. History is a testament that humans can not get along with each other. Human destructive behavior needs to be tempered with God's standards of morality and standards of decency, not only individually, but as a family, and most importantly for the children and the survival of the human race. If we are to survive we must control our inner rage and destructive behavior. If the current world population in excess of 7 billions human inhabitants on earth is to survive, humans need to look outside themselves for the answer.

I disagree in attempting to normalize the very dangerous mental disorder of homosexuality. Yes, President Obama has lifted the DADT in the military. Yes, President Obama has appointed a homosexual lesbian to the supreme court. Yes, President Obama is pushing for same sex marriage to be the supreme court's law of the land. While homosexuality was deleted from the DSM there is a current attempt by government and the media to normalize homosexuality. If you view the 1st John Jay college report on abusing homosexual Catholic priests it clearly states that over 80% of the child sexual molestation was of a homosexual nature. Just recently john Jay college recanted its first report (with inhouse psychologist) and is now saying that the cause of priests sexually molesting boys was not because the priests were homosexual, but rather because it was just the behavior of the turbalent 1960's. Pedohile is pedophile and when this scandal first was made public, in a televised interview Catholic Pope John Paul II said that they knew the problem they had with homosexual priests. Catholic priests are not incarcerated in their churches, though against church rules, a priest could in fact go out and have a sexual encounter with an adult female. The priests had sexual encounters with little altar boys because as homosexuals that is their preference. President Obama's affinity with homosexuals has opened a controversial subject with those who are currently serving in the military and with veterans. When we think of a "A Man's Army" we think of front line hand to hand combatants who are fully disciplined and ready to die for their country. President Obama has managed to repeal the military's DADT (Don't Ask Don't Tell) law. Should (veterans) those that have already served their country been asked for their opinion? Should all families who have lost their loved ones in defense of this country been asked for their opinion? A total of 3,468 Medal of Honor have been awarded by U.S. Presidents. Shouldn't we also ask the few of these soldiers who are alive today what their opinion is about homosexuals in the military?

WASHINGTON, Feb. 26— Two long-awaited studies have found that the Roman Catholic Church suffered an epidemic of child sexual abuse that involved at least 4 percent of priests over 52 years and peaked with the ordination class of 1970, in which one of every 10 priests was eventually accused of abuse.

The human toll amounted to 10,667 children allegedly victimized by 4,392 priests from 1950 to 2002, but the studies caution that even these numbers represent an undercount. The totals depend on self-reporting by American bishops, the studies note, and many victims have never come forward out of fear or shame. Even the authors of the two reports do not agree on the meaning of the findings. The review board's report mentions that more than 80 percent of the abuse at issue was of a homosexual nature. The report theorizes that the problem reflects a cohort of gay priests, based on their figures that the percentage of male victims rose from 64 percent in the 1950's, to 76 percent in the 1960's and 86 percent in the 1980's. Their report, 145 pages and covered in purple to signify atonement, dissects the culture in Catholic seminaries and chanceries that they say tolerated moral laxity and a gay subculture. We must call attention to the homosexual behavior that characterized the vast majority of the cases of abuse observed in recent decades.

If deleted from online viewers, ask the John Jay College for a copy of their 1st report. When the sexual abuse scandal first broke here in America, Pope John-Paul II said that the Church knew about the problem it had with homosexual priests.

Note the following statements from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice first report - "should the celibacy requirement for priests be revoked." "It is not possible yet to determine whether Catholic priests are more prone to molest children than any other professionals who work with youngsters." "John Jay researchers said in an interview that they have no data on sexual orientation of the perpetrators and that the more likely explanation is that sexual abuse is a crime of opportunity and priests had more unfettered access to teenage boys than to teenage girls." ''We don't know if that's because of homosexual orientation or because that's who they had access to.'' "James Levine, dean of graduate studies and research at John Jay, who coordinated the study, likened the phenomenon to male prisoners who have sex with men, not because they are gay, but because that is who they have access to." First, everyone should know that Catholic priests are not incarcerated in their churches. Priests are free and allowed to leave their church and though against church rules, could in fact go outside the church and have a sexual encounter with an adult female. The priests who sexually molested the little altar boys did so because as homosexual pedophiles, males are their sexual preference. So, to clarify....priests have access to adult females the same as they have access to little altar boys. They chose little boys because that is their sexual preference. The comparison of priests to male prisoners who have sex with men, not because they are homosexual, but because that is who they have access to.....is incorrect. First, heterosexual males in prison sexual preference is females, which they don't have access to. Second, in certain prisons homosexual prisoners are dressed with a different color uniforms to denote them as homosexual and to segregate and protect them from harm from the general heterosexual population. Prison heterosexual males fight to their death to protect themselves from rape. In televised prison documentaries prisoners explain their motto: "don't disrespect others, and don't allow others to disrespect you."

Authorities have misled the public to believe that pedophiles are heterosexual and not homosexual. However, there are several factors that are inherent in finding the truth. Clinicians use the "penile Plethysmograph" to assess sexual arousal and sexual orientation in men. Though the data is normally not accepted in court cases it does determine a few things. The device is strapped on a man's penis and then photos are shown on a screen. Photos of both sexes are flashed on the screen from old people down to the very young. Arousal determines the man's affinity to age and gender. Many homosexuals and bisexuals are not in favor of this device as they wish their sexual preference kept private. However, when dealing with a pedophile it is important to note that both homosexuals and bisexuals have similar affinities. A current television show airs frequently which shows sting operations and the apprehension of pedophiles using a 14 year old girl as bait online. That show always denotes the perpetrator as heterosexual and not homosexual and most men in their early 20's, a few older. But are these males actually pedophiles? When a man is tested with a plethysmograph female photographs are flashed on a screen. However when a young female body size or anatomy is questionable this puts the results in question. It is important then to consider the size and anatomy of the girl to determine whether the man is believing he is actually seeing a little girl or an older young developed woman. Cases where the man knows the girl's age to be 13 or 14 yrs of age throws the matter on the "underage laws" but also in a dark area of "age of consent" to determine pedophilia. A good example is the life of rock and roll singer Jerry Lee Lewis who marries his 13-year-old second cousin Myra Gale Lewis. Close-in-age-exemptions are considered as well as initiatives to raise ages of consent. In 2005 Georgia, U.S.A. proposed a bill to raise the age of consent from 16 to 18. In Canada the age of consent was raised from 14 to 16 in 2008 (in 1890 it was raised from 12 to 14). Peru lowered the age of consent from 17 to 14. The polarities of thought in this area is alarming as legislation can be destructive by the indifference or ignorance of millions of Americans who simply don't care. You can equate this dilemma to our current crisis with homosexuals in America.

Again, we must ask ourselves with the knowledge that male homosexuals are pedophiles, should they be allowed to teach our children or be in close proximity of children? What can the Catholic Church do about homosexual priests? With the knowledge that male homosexuals are pedophiles, the Catholic Church needs to screen applicants to assure that they are not homosexual. With the knowledge that male homosexuals are pedophiles, should homosexual males be allowed to adopt little boys? With the knowledge that male homosexuals are pedophiles, why has President Obama repealed the "don't show don't tell" in all branches of American military? With the knowledge that male homosexuals are pedophiles, why did President Obama address the United Nations and urge all countries of the world to treat homosexuals with respect and dignity? With the knowledge that male homosexuals are pedophiles, why did President Obama address the NAACP and urge that the NAACP treat homosexuals with respect and dignity, with full knowledge that NAACP members tend to be conservative Baptist Christians who do not condone homosexuality? With the knowledge of the 55 years study of homosexual Catholic priests by John Jay college, why have the American Psychological Association, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Medical Association, and the World Health Organization, not considered reinstating homosexuality as a mental disorder in the current revision of the DSM? And in view of the preponderance of evidence of homosexual males proven to be pedophiles, why have the above organizations failed to admit that male homosexuals are pedophiles?

In addition we must ask ourselves if President Obama's agenda also includes the destruction of all churches and the end of the position, rank, and insignia of Chaplain in all military branches and installations? Sadly we are led to believe that legislation and policy is passed and becomes the law of the land by the efforts of legislators or Supreme Court Justices who carry out the wishes of all 300+ million Americans. Truth is that policy becomes law by the indifference or ignorance of millions of Americans in the middle who simply don't care. This allows the few at the extreme left or right to pass their agenda. We might ask, what does religion have to do with homosexuality? Religion has been the forefront enemy of the homosexual community. If homosexuals gain the right for same sex individuals to marry by decree of the Supreme Court of the U.S., then homosexuals will be able to totally destroy those religions which have not allow them to marry. We ask how? Answer: Homosexuals will go to those churches which will not allow homosexuals to marry and ask that they marry them. Those churches which deny homosexual request to same sex marriage will be reported to authorities. Authorities will then use the constitution to demand that those churches be closed. Sadly we can also apply the above constitutional logic to homosexuals in the military. Since obama gave homosexuals the right to come out of the closet in the military, and once the constitution decrees same sex marriage, then military homosexuals will seek marriage in on post military churches. When on post churches deny same sex marriage, those churches will have to close. Think about the following: A church places a sign outside their church which reads "Whites only". Ask yourself....would the government demand that the church accept non-white members or close? Now ask yourself if that sign read "Heterosexuals only"....what would be the outcome? Most Judeo - Christian churches do not allow homosexuality, however homosexuals are welcome once they leave their homosexual lifestyle behind. Therefore "Separation of Church and State" seems to take on a new meaning. If the Supreme Court rules on behalf of the homosexual community, then the new meaning would be "The Survival of Law - at the Exclusion of Church". If the Supreme Court rules on behalf of the church, then the new meaning would be "The Survival of Church - at the Exclusion of Law". We must be mindful that the homosexual community is comprised of (2-3%) of the U.S. population of 300+ million Americans (which 97-98% are heterosexuals).

QUESTION: Why is a polygraph test admissible in court but not a plethysmograph test?

QUESTION: If moral turpitude (law) is any base or vile conduct, contrary to accepted morals that accompanies a crime....I ask do 9 Supreme Court individuals (one Chief Justice and 8 Associate Justices) decide what are accepted morals......or do 300+ million Americans decide what are accepted morals? I ask what is the difference between male homosexuals (and bisexuals) in America, in the military, and the Catholic Priests described above? Is the answer that male homosexuals (and bisexuals) in the military are not pedophiles and do not sexually abuse little boys.....and only Catholic male homosexuals (and bisexual) priests are pedophiles who sexually abuse little boys?

QUESTION: When police apprehends a male pedophile is a psychological test administered to determine if the male is heterosexual, homosexual, or bisexual? And if so, are those records open for public perusal?

QUESTION: Why does the Constitution support the rights of a minority group while at the same time squashes the Constitutional rights of the majority group? Does separation of church and state mean the destruction of God and church in America?
