U.S. STEM Grads More Innovative Than Their Foreign Counterparts

Foreign STEM graduates shouldn't get a green card stapled to their diploma

Back to argument

This man is an American Hero. He ripped the cover off of the Best and Brightest Front Groups...and found..the same old Cheap labor..Global type business groups.

Also he exposed the out and out lies the foreign worker lobby tells about how immigrants are more innovative and win more Nobel Prizes etc. Most of the immigrants..who win Prized in innovation..came here as babies..were raised american..and attended USA Schools.

Indian Workers......can be sent home if they even ask for a pay raise. they are on welfare after the first USA born Child. Lou Dobbs exposed the corruption in the Best and Brightest Lie ....most foreign workers come on entry level visas. Some Want Immigrant LIFEGUARDS.

Most of them are Hypenated Americans...looting the USA for the "homeland". Research it. the USA is infested with parasites and leetches...who are doing a good job of sucking the very economic life out of this nation. OVER 30,000 companies..exist...just to outsource USA jobs or plants. they make nothing. create nothing. Just make it easy to move to a slave labor nation.

That is what importing Foreign Workers has brught us too..and that is why the USA banned in until....1952..when 'refugees" from Europe flooded here..and quickly changed things to their liking. Still doing it.

No on green cards for STEM students. The immigration policies of this country need to be straightened out before any new policies are added.

Our American government is destroying this country, green card by green card, illegal alien by illegal alien. Our American government must realize that our country is in a crisis and we need to be FIXED before we can take on any additional responsibility. As is now stands, Americans are in poverty and the Entitlements that are given to illegal aliens are taking food off of OUR tables. OUR KIDS NEED TO EAT TO.. Our schools are now substandard because of the tsunami of illegal aliens who are taking the seats that belong to our kids in public schools - we are overwhelmed; we are being pushed to far in giving entitlements and our government is responsible.

No they should not get visas to stay in this country to take jobs that should be given to American Citizens.

I would go even further and reduce or eliminate foreigners from studying in this country. For every foreign student there is one less opening for an American citizen to go to college.

I also question whether the foreign students have a part to play in the rising cost of higher education.

How many countries subsidize the education of their citizens and will pay any amount ot get an American education.

The votes here are totally hackable. Hack is probably a bad term because it implies someone must go through a backdoor or breach some tricky security measure.

I'm not going to reveal my name because this type of thing is not something I support or want to be associated with, but I can tell you that someone voted numerous times in favor of big business. I suspected that was the case and bypassed the laughable double-voting protection measures in response to offset those votes - it took me a few minutes to figure it out. In response, they have one upped me. This could go on indefinitely so I'm pulling the plug now.

I''m going to perform this exercise one more time just to show it can be done. I hope that US News offshored this work because I would be ashamed to learn that an American implemented polling functionality so easy to bypass.

Some people may think "why does integrity in these polls matter". Even though I am violating the integrity of them myself to make a point, I'm being honest about it so you can see that a problem exists and hopefully it is fixed. It matters because when people look at these polls they will arrive at the wrong conclusion in regards to what the public thinks.

The truth is that probably less than 100 people voted in these polls and of those who voted the vast majority supported the "NO" vote.

Even better, here is how it is done. Hopefully US News uses this information to make their polling more reliable:

Step 1. Clear your cache

Step 2. Use free development tools or plugin to record HTTP requests and posts. I use Fiddler 2.

Step 3. Record traffic.

Step 4. Vote

Step 5. Look at HTTP Post in your http tool, and copy the raw text into HTTP Composer. You have 600 milliseconds to click as fast as you can and up the count.

If you don't clear your cache completely, the HTTP post will contain past voting information and will not work.

I'm sure an intelligent admin at US News website can figure out who I am based on IP. I'm not making a big attempt to remain secret from a network security perspective - because my intent is not malicious. In fact, I hope their DBA is able to backout all the repeat posts and set the record straight. If they are logging IP that may be a way to correct repeat votes. I will volunteer my time for free to help them make their site truly secure.

I don't know what the person who started this is trying to prove, but I can say that stuffing the polls in this system doesn't make you super-smart and it doesn't further you side of the argument. It's juvenile. I'm ready to put an end to my involvement in this juvenile behavior; I think my point has been made.

NO. they should not be given anything free just because they took advantage of studying and/or graduating with any degree in the US. Their countries do not allow it, so why should we! Let our own graduates have the opportunities here and let those foreign graduates go back and bring up the standards of their own countries.

In CA our governor and Demos want to give free college to illegals which is utterly ridiculous. This forces out legal citizens from higher education. Where does the stupidity stop?

Professor Norm Matloff offered more detail on the historically unprecedented "internal brain drain" caused by work visa programs during his 17 March 2011 talk at the Georgetown University Law School. See Professor Matloff's website, readily located with the two search terms "Matloff" and "ITAA" - then go to his publications and find the Georgetown link. To see the stark statistics regarding the millions of American families that have been harmed by the internal brain drain, search for the title of the PDF version of the new report, "How Record Immigration Levels Robbed American High-Tech Workers of $10 Trillion." This six-page report draws on visa admission data which tracks when a foreigner enters the U.S. on a visa. With just 5 high-skill work visa programs, over 37 million work visa admissions have occurred between 1975-2010. The report outlines some of the political corruption that caused this harmful legislation to be established and then expanded.

If there were a shortage, why are only 28% of the 15000 IT workers surveyed getting any form of formal training as a benefit or as required by the company?

In light of the fact that not even 1/3rd of companies invest in training their employees the shortage shouting is really falling on deaf ears.
