More Research Needed Before Marijuana Is Safe

Ok so lets pretend I'm dumb and don't realize they've had 70+ years to have adequate testing, and they sure as hell aren't going to start anytime soon. If there was profit in it, the "adequate testing" would have been done in the 60's. How long do these tests go on for all the new pharmaceuticals? 2-3yrs and then they are available. This is a scape goat of an argument that's logic leads in circular thought process. (not tested enough = not safe, not safe enough to test can't test) and really an argument-um ad ignorance Or as was said best Insanity doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Here is a comment for you: I have glaucoma, Sever Fibromyalgia with Chronic pain, Osteo Arthritis,and many more medical conditions. I smoked pot for 30 years and then quite due to moving to a state I didn't know people or where to get it. Before I quite smoking pot I had no Medical conditions! Now I need it for Medical use for my eye's(Glaucoma) I know it works for that cause I found some and it helped and even helped the Sever pain I suffer on a daily bases. Now I take 14 Medicines a day plus Eye drops for my eyes that hurt when applied. Pot has never killed like alcohol, and a lot of pills out there and now you have a new drug that is killing kids like crazy called Smiley. To me when I use it it make the pain in the eye's go away, it eases up the sever pain I have. When are you people gonna learn those of us that need it for Medical purpose's are the one's that are suffering. I don't get high as you put it. For me it helps me get around a lot better and not have to stay home bound and it keeps me out of the hospital. I have been in and out of the hospital since 2008 more than I can count and then when I go home it takes me months to recover from the drugs they pumped me with, Demerol,Morphine, Daloita,and other drugs. I am tired or taking all these medicine's that I take. I am tired of being sick all the time.I have to have shots in both shoulders and both hips due to the pain and so I can move due to being stiff as a board. You say they need to Study it more. Why don't they do the study on people that actually need it for Medical use? I would be glad to be a study person. then you would really see how it helps. If I would have listed all my medical condition's you would say that poor lady. I lost my job in 2001 due to Fibromyalgia and applied for SS and it took me until 2009 to get my SS and it is not even enough for me to live on. If you make pot a Medical Use then that would give the Government more money coming in and take the dealers off the Street then maybe the US wouldn't be in a money crises cause I guarantee I am not the only person that needs pot for medical use. I even thought about moving to where I could get it for Medical Use. You feel the pain in your body like I do and get Glaucoma and I bet you will feel the same as everyone that needs it for medical use! To yall do your studies while people die in car crashes from DWI drivers and die from Overdoses of pills,smoke crack and do cocaine, and even the new drug Smiley. If kids smoked pot maybe they wouldn't do all the drugs that kill, and I am not saying it is OK for them to smoke it. But guess what they are and they are doing other drugs as well that are killing them as well as drinking and driving!They will continue to do so cause they can't get there hands on pot these days. yall could put a stop to all these bad drugs but yall choose to stand back and say pot is bad. If it was so bad why did God put it on earth to begin with? Hell even Clinton smoked,others due as well I bet!

Im sorry but look at the facts. Marijuana has not caused a single death, states with medical marijuana suicide rates have dropped, DUI rates have dropped. Hemp which only had .03 percent thc content can completely replace the lumber industry, fact is that 1 acre of hemp can replace 4-10 acres of forestry. Hemp can also be used as a food, plastic (Model T Ford was made from hemp) cleaner burning bio diesel, list goes on and on. Its sad that big oil, big pharmaceutical and the lumber industry got their way.The people of the united states have been brainwashed. This is a PLANT and should be used by the people. I dont even smoke it!!

Get real..........A cigarette full of hot carbons, CARBON MONOXIDE, AMONIA AS A MEDICINE?

Sounds like when the cigarette companies pushed tobacco cigarettes as a healthy, wholesome medicine.

You say that Marijuana legalization is some kind of political agenda. However the prevalent Political Agenda for the last 5 decades has been to keep Marijuana illegal and to spread misleading propaganda to the public about it's effects. Politicians are now simply becoming worried because more people are becoming better educated and no longer agree with your convoluted political agendas to keep it out of the hands of people who need it and have every right to it.

Really? Why didn't you provide links to these 'exhaustive' studies? Who did these studies and how were they done? Where they peer reviewed? Were they published in a journal?

The FDA has already approved synthetic THC and even naturally derived concentrations of THC and other active elements of cannabis for patents by drug companies.

Cannabis has been used continuously for at least 5000 years without a single overdose! The bias against cannabis has to do with the way it is consumed and the fact that it makes you feel good.

Smoked cannabis has been proven to be safer than tobacco. When cannabis is inhaled it allows the user to adjust the amount consumed very accurately, thus receiving just enough relief as is currently needed.

"Doctor". The FDA has, to date, approved more lethal drugs than safe ones. Cannabis, Marijuana has an unrivaled safety profile as over the Millennium of its use, no one has ever died from using it. But you already know that. I am sorry for your lack of a grasp on reality.

REALITY#1-Marijuana is safer than Alcohol

REALITY#2-Marijuana is safer than Tobacco.

REALITY#3-Numbers 1 and 2 WILL KILL YOU.

Legalize Cannabis, Marijuana and go find a new job.

You should be ashamed of yourself. Anyone who supports the legal prohibition of Cannabis, Marijuana, is one who is ooposed to free-will.
