Hey Bendover

I hope your family gets sick and dies from a painful wasting disease that could be alleviated using medical marijuana. That would be appropriate karma for all the innocents you've imprisoned with your draconian prohibition policies

how about the people make up their own mind jerk, you sir do not represent anyone as former head of the DEA. You represent years of lies and incrimination of thousands of normal americans.

You need to get sick, and say that.

James T Jones of TX 7:26PM October 28, 2011

The highways are safer without mexican drug cartels transporting weed laced with herion, crack meth and many other lethal drugs.

Daniel Costanzo of CA 2:34PM October 28, 2011

Taking control of our own needs, and the market surrounding it, would disable drugs cartel from mexico, and all that stuff...

THAT'S DECREASING CRIME AND VIOLENCE.

You're just another liar.

A farce? Who's fooling who. The farce is that this guy wouldn't allow research by keeping cannabis in schedule 1. I'd say, either put up or shut up. Yes, the World Health Organization said back in 1995 that cannabis is safer than alcohol, tobacco, herion, and plenty of other stuff. You're a cruel man that interfered with researching cannabis. We should maybe enforced the 'RICO' laws for you and other organizations, namely, DEA, NIDA, HHS, NIH, FDA, etc.

James Phillips of OK 5:03AM October 28, 2011

If there is any real danger to the public, it is "men" like this one. Liar.

Mark of NM 11:40PM October 27, 2011

"The federal government has an obligation to enforce the law."

It is too bad that the SCOTUS permits them to define marijuana with 104 words that have little fidelity to our Constitution by

criminalizing cannabis. A simple definition of marijuana would erase the confusion inherent in the redundant phrase "smoked

marijuana" by calling it what it actually is - smoked cannabis.

Medical use of cannabis has a long history which has only recently been truncated by the federal interference of calling cannabis 'marihuana'. A simple definition of marijuana will let the People develop the dosages, potencies, and manufactures of cannabis with the goal of "predictable side effects". The FDA can monitor these developments, as they have other, more dangerous drugs to concern themselves with.

What kind of definition can reduce the "violations of federal law"? See below.

16. The term 'marijuana' means all parts of the smoke produced by the combustion of the plant Cannabis sativa L.

As a sufferer of Parkinson's Disease and a person who has never taken drugs, I can personally attest that marijuana has given me a way to get a full night's sleep. Without it I either get two hours of sleep or am forced to take heavy duty sleeping pills which leave me foggy and drugged feeling the next day. Close the dispensary and I would be forced to try to buy this medicine on a street corner and probably get mugged or worse. Those of you who believe the FDA when they say there is no medicinal value are naive. The FDA is a very suspect group controlled by special interest groups. The proof of the medicine is in the patient who benefits from it.
