Voter Fraud Deniers Ignore the Facts

Barack Obama and Eric Holder should stop attacking states for protecting the integrity of America's elections

Back to argument

Voting is a inalienable right unlike buying cigarettes, getting married, flights, or entering the DOJ to meet with Eric Holder. This argument is a fallacy on its face.

Secondly, when I look at the vote fraud map it reveals very little:

Florida - One voter

Iowa - they are trying to prove vote fraud

Florida - nothing has been proven here as yet (GOP)

Michigan - McCotter (GOP)

Massachusetts - Changing voter affiliation to Republican Party

California - allegations of residence irregularity

I just started looking at the instances of alleged vote fraud and I am left speechless. This is not representative of vote fraud mostly allegations with very little meat in it.. This proves nothing and to put it forth as a reason to upend voter rights on a list of allegations is frivolous at best.

Voter fraud happens about 0.0009% of the time. It really is NOT an issue worth trying to fix.

You have to believe 1/2 of those people voted Republican, 1/2 voted Democrat. It would be silly to assume otherwise.

A lot of people claim voter fraud but when the individual cases are looked into we find the claim was wrong.

And for the record, I'm a Republican. And I would like to reclaim my party from the Tea Party Taliban.

Mitchel writes "It is a federal crime for an illegal alien to register to vote or to vote in U.S. elections"

There is no good evidence that illegal aliens are voting but there is good evidence that 10% of Americans don't have a picture ID and 2/3 of that group are democrats. Mitchel is trying to disenfranchise those democrats. The illegal aliens are not the target.

People who just make mistakes when they vote are not committing fraud.

They're just mistakes. Errors. That's all they are. They are predictable, and they'll almost never have any impact on the election.

As John Stewart said, "If you wanna go smoke cigars and play a round of golf with some real d**ch*b*gs, the Republican National Lawyers Association convention is were you wanna go."

These people make a lot of money to lie...

I see a lot of CLAIMS about voting fraud (note - not registration fraud, voting fraud) but NO PROOF is ever shown. Reminds me of McCarthy's claims that there were large numbers of Communists, Soviet spies and sympathizers in the US government

This debate is not a debate at all. The supposed issue is really a non issue. It is a debate only in the obsolete obsolete definition of the word:

OED - de·bate (d-bt)

v. de·bat·ed, de·bat·ing, de·bates

v.intr.

1. To consider something; deliberate over some defined issue.

2. To discuss opposing points or sides of an issue.

3. To engage in a formal discussion or argument.

4. Obsolete To fight or quarrel without purpose.

The liberal position supports voter fraud while the conservative position tries to minimize or control voter fraud. A government issued photo id that is difficult to fake is the only answer.

Why would anyone want to risk a felony (or deportation) just to cast a vote? Voter fraud just does not happen because a person would have to be really stupid or crazy to bother to even try. This is particularly the case with those viral videos of "Eric Holder" getting a ballot.

If you are interested in the recent GOP Primary Elections results,

I encourage you to take a look at this document (both links point to the same document):
