Obama Can Control Some Factors That Affect Oil Prices

Domestic energy production has increased despite president, not because of him

Look at this historical gas price chart:

http://vurl.me/WRST

In the six months leading up to Obama taking office, gas prices dropped precipitously. I'm inclined to view that as a fluke, given the prior overall movement displayed in the chart. If you view it that way, then it's clear that the general long-term price trend has been upward since before 2005 and has not changed since Obama took office. Therefore, it's clear that Obama's - or any President's - short-term policies have little impact on the price of gas.

Gas was well over half price 4 years ago, unless anyone is going to say they paid $1.80-2.20/gal in 2008.

We increase domestic production, and OPEC will just cut production within their realm to keep the prices where they want them to be. The petroleum prices are under their control. These are world wide economic issues, and we should not make judgements as if it is an insular domestic issue.
