Immigrant bashing is not humane, moderate, or good for the U.S.

The organization this guy works for facilitates illegal hiring and violation of labor and citizenship laws. Why would USNEWS give space to a person actively breaking the law in favor of slave labor? Should we expect the Sinaloa cartel to give their thoughts next time?

There's nothing open or honest about pandering to illegals. For every illegal that take a job from an citizen, another American family goes hungry. No rights/ benefits, jobs, education or any other benefits should accrue to illegals. The taxpayers are forced to support this travesty and we've had enough. How dare you support an illegal alien taking a position in our taxpayer funded public colleges? Those are for our students, citizens and taxpayers. The illegals deserve and are entitled to NOTHING from the US.

Ho-hum. A Liberal wants to import more Democrat voters and is willing to demagogue Republican positions in order to achieve that. Is that surprising to anyone?

Plus ca change...

"Americans in waiting" -- what an absurd euphemism for illegal aliens. The fact remains that the 11 million illegal aliens in our country are not "Americans in waiting," rather, they are foreign nationals in our country illegally, hence the legal and accurate term: illegal aliens.

And we are "scapegoating" or "dehumanizing" them. Rather we are saying that there is a legal process they must follow.

Furthermore, most illegals in our country have committed multiple felonies (such as identity theft or stealing Social Security numbers).

We are not fooled by Newt Gingrich's amnesty scheme. We must instead mandate E-Verify nationwide and enforce current immigration laws.

This will help jobless working class Americans and taxpayers -- two groups that are overlooked by crass, insenstive pro-illegal alien zealots such as Chris Newman and Newt Gingrich.

Chris. Almost no one is opposing immigration. What is being opposed is ILLEGAL immigration. And you know what? Even immigrants can obey the law. Obey the law? 'Si! Nosotros podemos'.

Speaking as the husband of one and the sponsor of two other immigrants [all three from Bolivia], I defy you to find any overt or latent racism in my opinion. People who ignore the law are odious line jumpers who should be returned to their countries of origin.

No one is being treated as less than human, Chris. Only humans can break the law. We prosecute only humans for criminal acts. No migratory hummingbird has ever been arrested for crossing the Mexican border.

The purpose of American immigration laws and policies is not to be either humane or inhumane to illegal immigrants. The purpose of immigration laws and policies is to serve the national interest of this country.

There is no inherent right to come live in the United States, in disregard of whether the American people want you here. Nor does the passage of time confer any such right retroactively.
