The South knows conservatives, and Mitt Romney ain't one

Back to argument

The South, more than any other part of the country, knows that BHO has to be booted out, if this nation is to survive. They would even vote for John McCain, if it meant ousting BHO and McCain is an order of magnitude more liberal than any of the remaining GOP candidates.

Once the other two fake conservatives are out of the race, Romney will have the full support of Southern voters. At least Romney doesn't hide from his record and lie about it, like the other two. He makes excuses for it, but he doesn't lie about it.

I live in Texas and most of my conservative neighbors are committed to vote for Romney, since it's a virtual certainty that he will be the nominee.

I love how people keep using "conservatism" as a substitution for a religious test. Look at the exit polls and they are perfectly clear.

In Ohio :

Religious Beliefs of the Candidate Matter... a Great Deal = Mitt 20% Rick 53% in all other categories Mitt wins by over 10%.

Couple this with Most Likely to Beat Obama where 25% of people that believe Mitt is the best chance at winning in Nov still vote for Rick or Newt, and with Will you vote For the GOP Nominee in Nov? where 31% say probably or only if my candidate wins and 42% of these are Rick supporters.

It is even more dramatic in other southern states. Clearly "conservatives" are more concerned about religion then their country, and that is fine but the just call it for what it is because it is not conservatism.
