NO - As one of the last, vast untrammeled areas left on the planet, the Arctic Refuge provides the world a vital connection to the natural world. A symbol of freedom and balance invaluable to the human spirit.

How come pollution expense is passed onto the government and tax payers to clean up? In a so called free market the industry responsible for the pollution is responsible for the clean up. Those pollution expenses should be accounted for on their bottom line, held against their net sales and reported to their shareholders and stock exchange. For too long the polluting industries, coal, oil, nuclear and gas have been able to hold those down stream costs off the books.

Its time for a true accounting one without corporate welfare, one that takes into account health cost, cancer rates and the impact on overall productivity, and other market sectors, as well as clean up, remediation, storage and preservation - then lets see just how "profitable" are the dirty industries.

We not only need a true accounting we need true accountability.
