Flat Tax Unites Americans

Flat tax makes it more difficult for the government to divide Americans against each other

All people are created equal. Everyone pays the same amount of federal income tax. Whoa- some can not pay $10K per year, they may not earn $10K per year. So it has to be a percentage of income.

All these bloggers grouse about deductions. Guess what some folks don't go to church, some don't own homes, some don't have kids in college.

So we eliminate all deductions and while we are at it, why not eliminate all subsudies.

So let's drill down to what everyone absolutely needs. It boils down to just 3 things.

Health care not to be confused with health insurance.

An education that dovetails into a real job.

A comfortable retirement.

And who should pay for these. Well how about the tax payer. What about a 15% tax rate, no deductions. 1/3 goes to health care, 1/3 to education and 1/3 to retirement. How about every one from birth is on medicare, everyone from the first day of work is paying for their own retirement and the same with education.

Of course we would be paying for the generation behind us in education and health care.

Is it a good thing if employers no longer pay for health care? What about retirement? Is it OK if the property owners or the county no longer pays for education. What if the tax payers no longer pay for public safety employee retirement and can spend scarce dollars on equiptment and salaries?

The system is broken and if we don't fix it we will be the next Greece, Italy or Portugal.

A flat rate with an IRS is no change at all. I prefer a tax paid by business so instead of 180 million tax payers it would be more like 20 million, or if Obama stays in office 500,000.

Where are the details? I'd be happy with even a hint of details! How about a single deduction of $10K per person and nothing else, then tax me at 20% on the remaining.
