Global Warming bunk

The true test on global warming reality is to compare earth with our neighborhing planets. The readings are available. Earth temp changes are the same as our neighbors. meaning: Orbit change, solar flares, and the sun itself has an impact on our temp. Not global Warming.

With that being said, Global Warming is an absolutely horrible science and those that practice it are modern day witch doctors.

However, I sure the increasing fumes, from our spewing, spitting horseless bugy, etc. are having more of impact on us than temp change. So. full steam ahead Witch Boy and may your illogical logic rid us of these horrible travel machines.

Big oil supports IPCC report

Sorry, the full link got cut off. The Web-site is www.exxonmobil.com You'll have to do some work for yourself to read the report. On ExxonMobil's home page click on Energy & Environment. I believe it will be worth the effort, at least for some of you.

Big oil supports IPCC report

The page link below is from ExxonMobil's official corporate Web site. ExxonMobil agrees with the 2007 IPCC report and is rightfully proud that it's two top scientists who worked with the IPCC share in the Nobel Peace prize. BP Oil, Shell and Chevron's official corporate Web sites also state that they agree with the IPCC report.

Hysteria? Left wing agenda? Biased "main stream media"?Mis-information? Those claims just don't seem to hold water anymore, at least not to some of the largest oil corporations in the world.

Common Sense PLEASE!!

Convert to alternative energy sources...that would solve alot of problems. Someday the American public will wake up about politician's. It's never about the collective good of the country it's about whose name is on the bill or which party makes the other look bad. We get annoyed and elect the other other party and the cycle begins again. Congress and Senate needs some wall to wall therapy. Someone needs to grab these beltway cake eaters by the throat and remind them who they work for. RID US OF OUR DEPENDENCE ON OIL..I do not care who gets the credit, just do it. I will 100% guarantee all the "global" emissions comncern's will go away and come on you idiots...it's just common semnse when all that garbage is spwed into the air, it has to have an effect/affect on the climate. Yes, it has happened before but it didn't happen because of man made pollutants. Maybe it was an abundance of volcanoes going off I don't know but come on....putting all this crap into the air is not a good thing so global warming or not, alternative energy is better than burning oil so freaking change it. Go ahead and whine and blame algore or the other party and change who you vote for but the same thing is gonna happen. Does anybody get this or is everyone thinking "oh I'll be dead and gone so it won't be my problem"...you don't understand kharma then because dead or not, kharma still gets ya. I'm sorry did I just spoil the party? If you mess up the planet which then messses up someone's life, YOU are responsible...dead or not. Maybe the guilt angle will work...lol...whatever works just get alternative energy to the forefront on the FASTRACK. Oh and legalize pot so people will get bored with it. There is so much money to be made from taxing pot...money that can HELP our planet. Good grief I have enough perscriptions given to me that are all ok to take so why not legalize a weed that has more positives than any perscription I take and certainly has an equal amount or less amount of negatives. FASTRACK ALTERNATIVE ENERGY AND I MEAN LIKE REALLY FASTRACK IT LIKE THEY DID THE IRAQ WAR AND LEGALIZE POT. DO THOSE TWO THINGS AND THE PLANET WILL BE A BETTER PLACE FOR OBVIOUS REASONS. It's about time the "better living through chemistry people" got real jobs. The oil companies poison our air and the drug companies poison our minds and they are both 50% of the reason people are bankrupt or broke. People will become so bored with marijuana and just think about the crime "element" you cut out of the spectrum. You know what though? Every single elected official probably got a contribution from a drug company so any progress is on the back burner and will continue to be so. What a moronic world we live in, wait, it's a great world but the peeps running it and those paying the politicians are the morons. We deserve every bit of crap that is happening to us because we do nothing about it. Well 50% of Americans do not vote and use your imagination about what else they don't do!

Look at Rasmussen

Who did the poll, Al Gore? In the October Rasmussen poll only 38% thought it was man caused. 46% thought it was planetary trends. Has anyone looked at a chart of the temperature over the last few million years? The earth has moved back and forth between ice ages and hot periods. Where are we trying to set the thermostat? Who knows what the right temperature is. Also, when the graphs that Al Gore showed on his propaganda movie of Co2 and temperature are put together, many times it was the temperature that went up first and the Co2 followed, not the other way around. The founder of the Weather Channel has called global warming the greatest hoax in history. And now our president is about to spend more billions of our money for a problem that may not even exist. Why don’t we add carbon taxes so we can kill even more American jobs? This country has lost its collective mind.

MORE PEOPLE ARE BELIEVING IN "GLOBAL WARMING"

I'm not surprised. Hysteria is infectious and facile thinking common.

Personally, I'm rooting for global warming over another Ice Age - I'd rather picnic under a palm tree than a glacier. But, maybe that's just me.

Aliens

Most Americans believe in aliens, too. Should we spend 500 billion dollars to try to prevent them from attacking us?

Pull your head out first, brincmike

That's quite a science experiment you came up with. Not only did it have nothing to do with CO2 or "climate change", it left out the most important conclusion - once the ice melts, the water level actually decreases. Is that supposed to be your version of a climate catastrophe?

Your "thinking" (I'm being generous with that term) is even more clouded with regards to policy decisions. First you laughably assume each "camp" proposes one and only one course of action. Then, you can't even evaluate the simplest of possible consequences, of policy decisions you can't even begin to comprehend.

You are right about one thing - there is a Massive Misinformation Machine in operation. But once again, you're totally blind as to its nature. If you'd take a closer look at the driver, you'd recognize him immediately - why, isn't that former Vice President Al Gore? And who's that riding shotgun? Obama? And take a look under the hood - that's the mainstream media, the entire federal bureaucracy (EPA, NASA, NOAA), the Sierra Club, USCAP, NRDC, etc etc etc. After all, obsolete (not yet scalable) technologies like windmills and solar panels need billions in taxpayer subsidies to compete on equal footing with fossil fuels, and billions in propaganda to fuel global warming hysteria ("we can't let free markets decide our energy future, the Earth is burning up!!!")

Is your head out yet, brincmike?

No wonder you didnt link to the "poll"

It's a crock. It was done by something called "Pew Campaign on Global Warming". So are they a non-partisan player in the debate? Uh...not so much. They state their role as...

"Industrialized nations, led by the United States, must take steps over the next five years, to:

-set mandatory limits on greenhouse gas emissions,

-enact national climate policies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions across all economic sectors,

-increase the fuel efficiency of cars and light trucks;

-and negotiate a new round of commitments to cut GHG emissions by all nations, including China, India, and other rapidly developing countries."

Another red flag is PEW has not released its survey only "summaries" of its supposed "findings." A reputable polling operation always shows the survey to make it clear there are no misleading questions, priming of answers, etc. When you don't see it, AND when it comes from a partisan in the debate, AND when they do not give the the hard counts or the crosstabs, then you know you are dealing with bunk.

This is bunk, and any competent journalist should be able to see that.

Hey Paul...

...there is this new thing one can use on a blog posting. It's called a hyperlink. Theoretically, such a "link" can be used to connect one's readers to another site where additional information (like the poll you mention) could be looked at.

It's real cutting edge stuff...
