Planned Parenthood Assails Democratic Health Reform Critic

Add Planned Parenthood to the special interest groups assailing Democratic Rep. Bart Stupak for potentially holding up passage of Speaker Nancy Pelosi's health reform bill until it clearly states that public funds cannot be used for abortions. He says the current bill leaves open that possibility, while Planned Parenthood says he's trying to reduce the number of insurance plans that currently cover abortions. Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards described Stupak, the Michigan congressman, in ways the group normally reserves for talking about conservatives.

"There are those of us who want to see health reform passed and those who want to use it for their demagogue issues. Stupak has lost the big picture, in my opinion. He's trying to re-litigate the abortion issue, and it's unfortunate to see," she said. In a statement, Stupak says the legislation would mandate "abortion services for the first time in our nation's history."

Richards says she doesn't think that "pro life" voices have gotten stronger in the Democratic Party: Stupak has always held his views, she says, and he's always been in the small minority. On the other hand, she adds, "pro choice" Republicans are being squeezed out of their party. "I can count on one hand the number of pro-choice Republicans in Congress," she insists.

Democrats- Party of the "little guy"

The Democrat party once stood for the oppressed, the weak, the vulnerable, and the poor, yet today they are the abortion party. Who could be more weak, vulnerable and poor than women who think their best "choice" is killing their own child? Abortion hurts women and women deserve better than this very poor and very painful "choice". Real healthcare does not include hurting women and killing children, so I am very grateful for the passage of the Stupak amendment. Newsflash: America is prolife and abortion will be the deciding factor in all upcoming elections. It is time the Democrat party once again became the party for the "little guy (or girl)" in the womb! Intentionally killing unborn children through all nine months of pregnancy, which is completely legal and happens at a rate of 4,000 each day, is NOT healthcare.

Stupak is a mole in Democratic Party....

Both Parties have mole members. Like Dixicrats who delayed civil rights laws, Stupak is a reiigious extremist. His personal feelings guide his votes, so he violates his oath to preserve, defend and protect the Constitution. He is a fake Democrat, a fake patriot. He has no right to treat women as if we are inferior beings. He can never be pregnant under threat of dying from some organic failure triggered by conception. He is a fake male, because real men love women & take care of them, as mothers, wives & daughters. He steals assets of the Democratic Party & subverts them so his church can flourish & have its laws enforced. He unconstitutionally merges church law with civil law. Both Parties have no way at all to verify what a candidate actually stands for until he's in office and votes. Stupak exploits the system and does it lasting damage. If someone he did love needed an abortion, because she has kidney, heart of liver disease, would he let her die? Prolife exists to be sure women bear more tithers, to keep money flowing to tithe-dependent church employees.

Health care and abortion

Pass healthcare and quit with your own personal reasons for limiting the personal freedoms of women. Why do me get to have viagra and cialis? Limit that!
