Washington Whispers by Paul Bedard

Afghanistan, Healthcare, New Orleans Drag Obama Down

October 23, 2009 05:19 PM ET | Permanent Link | Print

Pollster John Zogby updates our weekly Obama Report Card with a grade on the president's performance. Zogby uses his polling, expert analysis, and interaction with major players to come up with a grade and some comments that capture how he see's the president's week ending.

John Zogby on Week 40:

"We found a slight dip back under 50 percent in our latest polling of Obama's job approval, with slippage coming from Democrats, Independents, and the under 30 First Global(tm) generation. His deliberations on whether to send more troops to Afghanistan are leading to impatience and doubts from many quarters. On healthcare, liberals want him to come out forcefully for a public option and put some pressure on Democratic senators who stand in the way of achieving what has become the left's litmus test. His trip to New Orleans seemed to backfire and substantiate some people's accusations that Obama is all talk and little action. We'll see if the administration's announcement to limit executive pay at banks that benefited from TARP will be a hit with voters.

Grade: C+

How can polls be significant?

Polls can never collect 100% accurate opinions from enormous numbers of people. it's proved that respondents often lie when polled. Some folks change their minds a week after they're polled, having had new input. Gallup is a religious person who understandably hopes to show increase in church attendance. Poll employees never say "This is a Far Right poll, to show voters how many nice folk like you are going back to church." Argument against tax-paid health care stalls because Prolife churches want to force women to produce ongoing generations of tithers. Of course, a poll taken to benefit Prolife will "prove increasing numbers of people are against Prochoice Obama." Those polled may not even have bothered to vote, or they could all belong to one of many Prolife groups under different names. One of Obama's first & finest acts was to make a law forcing bosses to pay women the same wages for men for the same work. He made himself a One Man Equal Rights Amendment. Everyone connected to a working woman will benefit from his truly magnificent equalization of wages.

Presidential line

When we publish any information the assistance we offer is

right to the Presiding team in leadership. This is not a

chat. Though chatting is an art. Winning votes has been over

since payrolls should be earned. The people are not cattle.

Though the tax team would have you join in to enjoy their

benefits. At our office in the trade center of major shipping

the presidential opinion is highly respected, responded,

referred, and referenced for all the good he is, and explains.

He stops and explains distinctive directions to choose. At

this time under exceptionally dangerous conditions, I for one

would make public, and enforce the interesting feature that

the congressional acts passed for LINCOLN are law. This top

status of commander in chief, leader, honorary campus chief,

and business investor is quite enough credibility that all

americans can be proud to support his ideal. FREEDOM and

TRUTH is the hallmark that made America #2 and survive the

very important duties of chair leader of the United Nations.

Local politicians beware, obeying laws is a law. There is no

need to garner votes and gain popular poise, the days of the

handsome gentleman genius are here again, and we are the ones

the benefit his wisdom. That is true leading of nations,

offering our souls to the altars of deities and sovereigns.

Points taken include the use of automation, automotives,

automobiles, autocrats, and autorobotics that led the makers

into disarray, and decisive failure. Segway is here in the

generation of great dreams. Better mileage looks funny, and

must have responsive designers. The lead UPGRADE and producer

race to the top is always sure to be GO GREEN. The hip

scene of entertaining the troops, the tv audience, the radio

operations, and the concert halls of concerned sponsors, at

the table of HIS mighty creation, will be used with grace,

efficiency and safety for all. In Congo the presidency is a

10 year term.

Zogby?!?!?!

Zogby isn't a pollster any more. The push poll he ran for John Ziegler just reinforced the fact that he's a political prostitute. Besides, his numbers haven't been reliable for years.

The only reason USNWR would run a Zogby notapoll is if you have a politica agenda you are trying to push. There are honorable, dependable pollsters out there. Use one of them and you might have some credibility.
