Obama Report Card: A Grade of 'C' for a Difficult Week
By now you've noticed that we've made a big change in Whispers. Gone is the ObamaMeter, replaced by John Zogby's weekly report card. This week, Zogby gives the president a solid C for the reasons he spells out below.
We made the change to make the feature easier to read and to erase the confusion some saw in the ObamaMeter. Each week, Zogby used to give a performance number from 1 to 100 for Obama. It was based on his polling, his review of the news and mood in Washington, and his frequent travels and interaction with real people. But some thought the number was an Obama popularity or job approval number, which it wasn't, and that resulted in a little confusion. So we've changed it to an A-to-F report card scale. Tell us what you think. E-mail me at pbedard@usnews.com with your comments. Now, on to the Obama Report Card.
Pollster John Zogby updates our weekly Obama Report Card with a grade on the president's performance. Zogby uses his polling, expert analysis, and interaction with major players to come up with a grade that captures how the president performed during the week.
John Zogby on Week 36:
"President Obama's grade this week has to be based on degree of difficulty. Over the past seven days, Jimmy Carter brought up the unwelcome topic of race, the generals said they needed more troops in Afghanistan or the mission would fail, word leaked that Obama wanted New York Gov. David Paterson not to seek election, China surprised everyone by saying it would do more to halt carbon emissions, and Israel again said no to putting a freeze on West Bank settlements. All this is taking place as Obama is meeting with world leaders and speaking at the United Nations. None of these has, as yet, caused major embarrassment or trouble for Obama. Meanwhile, healthcare reform is moving forward in the Senate Finance Committee, and Massachusetts is set to give the Democrats a 60th vote in the Senate with a replacement for the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy. And as to the question of 'overexposure in the media,' Obama actually seems to solidify his base more when he is in the open."
Grade for the week: C
Last week: C

Polls?
Polls? Do not tell me you are naive enough to believe in Polls? How do pollsters know people are even registered even if the person was not he/she may say they are. And Internet polls are even worse. People might vote on them every time they hit the site or a bunch of times all at once. President Obama probably does not pay attention to polls because they are so unreliable. There was another president that did not take stalk in polls, I believe it was President Clinton.
No thanks I make up my own mind and will not be manipulated by society or lies. If you are so weak minded that polls is the only thing you have to make up your mind I bet you never vote out of your party, Letting your party tell you how to think. Thats why people vote party because they cannot make up there own minds. And that is why we need grassroots think tanks all over America so people can finally be informed so we do not have to be manipulated by polls or parties we can get real information by real people and will be able to think for ourselves.

Think That Mr. Zogby is being MOST KIND AND GENEROUS!
If one reads the European press, Germany, France and even the UK are no longer enamored with President Obama. His image in Eastern European Countries is even worse!
At best, Obama is coming across as very naive in foreign policy -- at worse, incompetent!
True -- he received accolades from Gadhafi; from Chavez; and even from Castro, but are these the ones sought??
His judgment is now in serious question regarding Iran. He appears as the five year old kid sneaking in his grandmother's cookie jar, and slips; falls; and breaks the jar, and then blames it on the stool tipping over!
His judgment is now in question on:
*GITMO!
*HEALTH CARE!
*Afghanistan!
*Cap & Trade!
*Stimulus and TARP (they are now looking at bailing out the Post Office and Newspapers -- why don't they go back and bail out the old buggy industry from the horse and buggy days? That might put Detroit back on the map!)
Obama has attempted to be a JACK OF ALL TRADES, and a MASTER OF NONE!!
This will be known as the OBAMA FIRE, READY, AIM GANG FROM CHICAGO!!
Grade: F!
