Obama Policies Turn Off Independents

Independent voters, who have held the balance of power in recent elections, appear to be shifting to the Republican side, less than a year after they put Barack Obama in the White House. In different GOP polls released over the past two weeks, independents have shown irritation at the administration's spending policies. A recent Republican National Committee poll for GOP leadership and a Resurgent Republic survey released this week find that independents are angry at Democratic leaders and are sympathetic with the tea party tax protesters.
In Resurgent Republic's new survey, independents voiced fears of tax hikes to pay for the administration's policies. For that survey, the group teamed with five GOP polling firms and in August went to five cities—Columbus, Ohio; Las Vegas; Virginia Beach, Va.; Orlando; and Billings, Mont.—to query independents who voted for Obama. The poll was further broken down by those Obama independents who are undecided on the 2010 congressional generic ballot. Resurgent pollster Whit Ayres said that his group found that independents support Obama personally but are worried that his policies will strangle the country with debt, reducing prosperity and opportunity for future generations. Specifically, the independents voiced anger at the direction of the Democratic congressional leadership and were worried about the federal debt. They also believed that they would get hit with tax increases, see cuts in Medicare, or experience inflation as a result. They also voiced worries about China and the nation's debt to that nation. Ayres suggested that if the trend continues, House Republicans could see a significant pickup in seats in the midterm elections next year. He cited an average of recent polls that found Republicans slightly ahead of Democrats on the generic election ballot, something he said the GOP hasn't seen since the 1994 Republican upset. "Republicans could have a very good year," he said.

Obama Policies Turn Off Independents
Lets see, the polls were taken by Republican polsters. What other result did you expect??
I am dismayed by the shrillness of some of the opposition. It seems so illogical. Obama inhereted the worst situation imaginable:Quagmires in Iraq and Afganistan;a near depression due to incompetence, greed and deregulation; a tax structure that did not produce enough revenue even in the so called boom (bubble) years, a whopping deficit even before the bailouts began. All the far right can do is scream Nazi, socialist, Markist, facist at someone who is trying to fix the mess left by the Bush Administration. Where is the loyal opposition? Where is the debate of reason to help formulate solutions to these horrendous problems?
Why do they insult our inteligents
I am an American independent and I am happier With President Obama than I am with the fear mongering and lies of the republican party. I wish someone was brave enough to put one of the health care bills online to be debated but I doubt that will happen (it would be to much work). The democrats are not without blame either. I do believe president Obama is trying to stay neutral but has made a few errors himself. But he has stayed away from the race card but other democrats has used the race card.
The president is doing his job but the parties is making it hard because to them it is a party and they are not considering the lives there games will effect.
As far as I am concerned we should vote out both democrats and republicans and encourage other parties to come up with there own candidates. Thats right we have more choices than republicans and democrats
Another thing If people were listening to the presidents speech they would know that the president is not taking any money from Medicare, He is taking money from Medicare D and savings from Medicare fraud savings. If people need to find arguments I am sure they can without making themselves look foolish. People who come up with such lies knows we the people are not paying attention so they can get one over on us, little that they know some of us do pay attention. Independants
The Independants gave Pres. Obama the victory and he announced and campaigened on the very policies that he has begun to put in place. I do not believe that they are leaving him on those policys,if they are leaving him it is mainly because of the lies from the other side of the aisle .
