With liberal comedian Al Franken's election to the Senate, more stars could consider a second career in politics. But of the politically active celebs whom respondents to our latest Whispers poll would like to see throw their hats in the ring, the most popular choice was someone on the other side of the aisle, sort of. A self-described independent, actor Tom Selleck is pro-gun and was pro-John McCain. Forty-one percent of respondents said they'd choose the Magnum, P.I. star for a congressional run. Ben Affleck, a Barack Obama supporter, got support from 18 percent of those polled, and Ted Nugent and Angelina Jolie each garnered 16 percent. And while she's active in the Creative Coalition, 26-year-old actress Anne Hathaway must still need to prove her political chops. Only 9 percent of respondents wanted The Devil Wears Prada star to run for office. But that's OK. While she could go for a House seat, Hathaway's still too young to run for the Senate.

The Whispers Poll

Comic Al Franken's election to the Senate could prompt other politically active entertainers to consider a run for office. Which film or music star would you most like to see serve in Congress?

Tom Selleck 41%
Ben Affleck 18%
Ted Nugent 16%
Angelina Jolie 16%
Anne Hathaway 9%

Congressional hopefuls

I think Jack-azz Garofolo ought to run for Congress. Pelosi is getting too old and ridiculous to laugh at anymore, and it would be good to have another Godless, feeble-minded, liberal twit to represent the Obama kool-aid communists.

WHAT!!??

I'm sorry, but Tom would a another NEOCON joke. Micheal Moore is the best choice. He's always been honest and hopeful for America.

An Honest Man - Yes!

As mentioned in a previous blog, "Magnum" aka Tom is the man... He is honest and not afraid to share and hold opinions regardless whether they are popular or not. If you've listened to his interviews over the years, he is patient, straight-forward and has what many politicians lack - common sense.

California is in such a mess because of our fiscally irresponsible legislature, we need all the help we can get to get away from the kind of politicians we have in office right now. Go Tom! I'd vote for him in a heartbeat!
