'Blue Dog' Democrat: Pelosi Is Too Divisive to Be Speaker
Corrected on 8/25/09: An earlier version of this article incorrectly identified the state Rep. Parker Griffith represents. He is from Alabama.

In a statement likely to intensify the GOP assault on Speaker Nancy Pelosi's reign, a first-term Democratic "blue dog" congressman said that he would not vote to make her the top House Democrat again. Rep. Parker Griffith, a former oncologist from Alabama, told a town hall meeting this week that Pelosi is too divisive to be speaker. "I would not vote for her [again]," he added. "Someone that divisive and that polarizing cannot bring us together."
Griffith has been fairly independent this year, opposing the stimulus and the cap-and-trade carbon emissions plan, according to the Huntsville (Ala.) Times, which reported his comments.
His words and jokes about Pelosi's iron fist were music to Republicans' ears. "It's not surprising that the August heat is leading House Democrats like Parker Griffith to abandon support for Speaker Pelosi, but what's more shocking is that it's taken them this long to understand what Americans have known all along," said Paul Lindsay, spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee. "Not only is Pelosi divisive and polarizing, she is steering her caucus down a politically perilous road that will cost them their jobs before she ultimately loses hers."
There was no immediate comment from the speaker's office, but a Democratic insider shrugged off the comments and said that the Democratic Caucus stands strongly with Pelosi.
And at the town hall, Griffith's conservative comments weren't met entirely with applause. One attendee, wrote the Times, asked when Griffith was going to stop listening to Rush Limbaugh and "get behind a winner called Barack Obama?"

Nancy Pelosi
Delusional Nancy Pelosi has to go... Feigning fear and tears to make the case that citizens giving their viewpoint of where their government is going, particularly under the current circumstances wherein the govenment is out of control.. This pretend upset is noxious.... Nancy who sat by watching George Bush get attacked mercilessly for 8 long years, talk of killing him, being called Hitler and everything else vile and evil..... it was nasty and hate-filled. No Nancy in sight...no fear, no upset... The RNC Convention where a ragtag band of radical leftists were tolerated by the Republicans...but Nancy wasn't afraid of this band of thugs, true Brownshirts...some caught making bombs in their hotel room...caught spraying something on delegates...Where was Nancy then... Shut up Ms.Pelosi...you are pathetic and have proven with this outburst just how insignificant, irrelevant and truly delusional you really are and have to go if the democrats ever want to be taken seriously again. This is no leader...this is a joke By the way Nancy, don't give up your day job...Hollywood likely won't be calling soon...your acting ability is laughable. All serious Americans are sick of the posturing, playacting and pretense of concern for all this racism from all corners...it makes ones jaw drop to experience such neurotic, desperate and transparently deceitful tactics...Not working folks...too bad the election is this fall is all I can say..
Democrat History
There is a new book describing the Democratic Party’s libertarian roots and how they switched from Jefferson and Jackson to Rousseau and Marx in the 20th century. You’ll find it on Amazon Books under Clay Barham or on the website www.claysamerica.com.
Pelosi
Is the woman Tom Delay, but she is not as effective a leader. One thing is definitely clear during this short year Obama has been President-there is difference between Obama & George Bush. Obama hates white people. I have voted Democrat my whole life, but I cannot wait to cast my vote for Mitt Romney in 2012.
Obama is more of the same.
