Dick Cheney is one of the most honorable men in the U.S. He has been demonized by the radical left with full cooperation of the media. The man is brilliant, as is his wife Lynne and certainly daughter Liz. This are just good decent people who love this Country. The loons who slur and slander him are just clueless and disgusting. Of course, they want the marxist regime we now have in the WH.

Cheney's legacy is a mixed one. His intelligence programs prevented terrorist attacks while his interrogation policies provided useful information. The whole water-boarding is torture is garbage. If you wish to find out what actual torture is, I can give you dozens of examples used throughout history. At the same time, he should have informed congress, however I see some leeway given that this was done during a time of war. If it hadn't been, then there would have been no excuse for it. He would have made a better President than Bush did, Bush going from good to bad from 2001-2004, and from bad to failure in 2007-2008.
As for the appeasers out there, the people who advocate 'diplomatic missions', that approach has been proven to fail repeatedly throughout history, the most notorious case being Hitler. However, the Cold War was started because of FDR's appeasement of Stalin, and that appeasement in letting him get all the land he wanted in Europe resulted in the deportation of 27,500,000 people of whom 5,750,000 were killed, either by direct Soviet actions (including killing civilians 'for fun') or by the actions of their puppets. Over 5,500,000 people killed because FDR was willing to bend over backwards tell his spine broke to, in an ideological fog, make 'the world safe for democracy' with Stalin (who would murder 40,000,000 people between 1924-1953) as his partner. And all this with the US State Department and senior British politicians telling him to give the USSR 'nothing' that it didn't have prior to September 1, 1939. FDR, the star of the Left in the US, has more blood on his hands than all other American leaders combined. Not to mention he broke international law with regard to deportation and he broke the UN deceleration, which he came up with, most notably the sections where 'no territory will change hands against the will of the inhabitants.'
Everyone here seems to have a complete lack of historical knowledge and the ability to put things in context as a result. Nothing any leader of the US has done has come close to giving a tyrant the go-ahead to cause the greatest movement of people in history. Nor does the death of 4,000 soldiers over a 5+ year time-span rank as an abomination. Try speaking to someone in Poland for example who was from a 6-child family and the only person to survive Hitler and Stalin. You all complain about water-boarding--yet know little of what it actually is, that it only was used on 3 people and that it is mild to say the least.
Now for some fact clarification:
Cheney got 'military wavers' because of his heart condition. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want soldiers who could keel over when placed under intense environmental, physical and psychological stress to be in our army.
Secondly, the terrorist threat was not something new to the Bush administration, nor was the idea that Iraq was involved. Both came up in the late 90s under the Clinton administration.

Make the true recipients of the benefits that came from having a non-elected cabal of draft-dodgers, war-profiteers, war criminals and hypocritical wide-stance Christ-tards
in power for eight long years pay for their Machiavelli's security. Make Halliburton pay for it or Boeing or GE or KBR or DataCorp or Lockheed Martin Marrietta or Taser or Grumman or....you get the picture.
My best guess would be
that President Obama keeps his friends close and his enemies closer. If I were under so much pressure (read: "threats from racists"), I'd want to keep a very close, watchful eye on my harshest critic, particularly when my AG has threatened to actually investigate his worst violations of law...murder. With Sy Hersh's rumor of JSOC assassination accountability foursquare in Cheney's pocket now all but proven fact, you damn skippy I'd want this Cheney watched. He;s earned the protection.

Well of course Obama wants to keep Cheney alive! His presidency, along the current democratic supermajority; are due in large part to this enormous douche bag.

Since Republicans don't like Big Government in their affairs, let his protection detail go back to work on the current administration duties.
After that, since he thinks that companies should "sink or swim" on their own, with no stimulus funds. Let him "sink or swim" ow his, own.
He can always hire and pay Blackwater for his security, but I thought he was "fearless"? Why is he afraid of his own kind?

this protection should be kept in place anyone thinking other is not working with a full deck. as the dc crowd goes he is one of the better. I think he does care . unlike the current regime.
