S.OS.

Reagan- "the best social program you can give Americans is a job". Obama- "we now own you".

What?

Obama is no Reagan and never will be. Reagan embrased free markets and capitalism while tearing down the communist wall in Germany and liberating the people. Obama is a socialist, no doubt about it. Reagan believed in equal opportunity all, Obama believes in equal outcome for all.

can't campare

The sociaist-in-chief cannot be compared to Reagan let alone any other president. He has done more damage to this country as we knew it in such a short time as no one has ever done before. God help us from this evil.

There's a certain symmetry

in that the Reagan administration was largely responsible for the economic mess the nation is now in, and that we hope the Obama administration will be able to lead us out. But symmetry isn't equivalency. Reagan was a poor president with good image control. Obama - too early to say, but he's starting out to be the best since JFK, or FDR. Those are better comparisons.

Think before you type.

Ronald Reagan was a great President and maybe the best in recent memory. You don't need to trash someone to bring up another. The current president has not been in office for 1 year yet and has not been in politics 1/10th of the time Ronald Reagan had under his belt. You can't begin to compare the two. Lets talk when Obama is 70yo and compare at that time. Remember Carter and waiting in lines for gas, watching the hostages in Iran? A depleted Military still trying to recover from Vietnam? Maybe you don't but I do. Reagan changed all that for the better. So far I have not seen anything to show that Obama has done anything close to what Reagan did.

No Insults please!

Don't dare compare this arrogant, selfish, distructive presidental impersonator to Reagan. He's in a world all his own (and it sure isn't anywhere in America!)

Don't go there!

Do NOT ever put up that comparison. Reagan goes down in history for being a great president. This 'person', if you will, is in the process of destroying America. He will go down in history for demolishing the constitution and trying to turn us into socialists. Call him Hitler without mass murders. His beliefs are that of all commie leaders while Reagan believed in Land of the Free Home of the Brave. This one wants us to step down to third world country levels. They're opposites. Reagan wasn't a phony, this one says different things according to the audience he is 'campaigning'to. That is not even a qualification of a leader!.

Oh, please

About the only thing Obama and President Reagan have in common is their Irish heritage.

Barack Obama at least

understood that Reagan was more "transformational" for his time (than some other presidents) and said so in an interview last year with the Las Vegas Review Journal---to much criticism from liberals. So Obama "gets" Reagan and what happened there.

That said, I believe Barack wants to be just as transformational, with different goals and different outcomes, of course.

No, he's not - let's keep it that way

You're right. He's ten times better than Ronald Reagan. Let's hope to God he's no Ronald Reagan.
