Conservatives Fret Over 3 Potential Obama Supreme Court Picks

With the White House indicating that President Obama is working quickly to pick a replacement for retiring Supreme Court Justice David Souter, conservatives are turning the spotlight on the backgrounds of three likely front-runners: Solicitor General Elena Kagan, U.S. Appeals Court Judge Sonia Sotomayor, and U.S. Appeals Court Judge Diane Wood. "These are the three that we see as most likely," said Wendy Long of the Judicial Confirmation Network. In a conference call to supporters today, she and JCN boss Gary Marx unveiled a new website, ObamasFrontRunners.com, that features biographical videos on all three. Each, says Long, is a liberal who will apply "empathy" and "personal feelings" to her court decisions.

The new Web videos, and the organization's stepped-up outreach to conservatives, come as the administration and Democratic court watchers are talking up Obama's goal of hiring a middle-of-the-road judge. Recently, there has been less talk of "empathy" and more discussion of picking someone who employs judicial restraint. But Long called that "a giant deception" meant to hide the type of judge the Democrats want. Addressing the change in language by the Democrats, Long said, "The fact that this is happening presents a big challenge." Marx urged those on the conference call to shop the new Web page around to counter the Democratic portrayal of the president's likely picks as pragmatic and moderate.

Glib Talk vs. Revealing Deeds

Our President is a talented spin doctor...He got an honorary degree from Notre Dame while promoting "fair mindedness". The very people he demonizes as demonizers...are speaking fairly about his nominees for the Supreme Court. Don't expect a fair-minded consideration of the facts from a glib, racist abortionist...who wants to institutionalize abortion, outlaw prayer and the Bible with rulings from the Supreme Court. As he bulldozes in his agenda (that is straight from the pits of hell)into the Supreme Court, pray for a reactionary reflex from the existing judges.

All power, authority, and judgement comes from the throne room of the soon to return King Jesus. Are you old enough to remember saying "One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all" or the morning prayer over the loudspeaker in each classroom. When Jesus returns, the gays will lose the right to repent or perish...along with the followers of Allah, who practice what their Koran preaches, "Death to everyone except us"...along with the so-called "Christians" who seek the destruction of human fetuses and half born babies...the most innocent blood for which America is so thirsty to drink.

The fact is

That when a vacancy on the Supreme Court occurs, the president in office at that time appoints the successor. The party out of power finds all sorts of reasons to block confirmation, but in the end, the candidate is confirmed. It is hoped that over time this system achieves a balance between so-called "liberal" and "conservative" judges--but does not guarantee it.

Sonia Sotomayor may have allowed judicial misconduct

The results of Angel Justice research:

Sonia Sotomayor was responsible for supervising judge Rosemary Pooler when Pooler was a District judge. That is, complaints about misconduct were to be handled by judges on the United States second circuit Court of Appeals, where Sonia Sotomayor was a judge. A complaint was made about Rosemary Pooler. The complaint centered on Rosemary Pooler taking on a case where Rosemary Pooler and her daughter had direct business dealings with one of the litigants and which business dealings had turned sour. The litigant was bringing to the attention of the district court, alleged misconduct by Anthony Cardona, Thomas Mercure, of the Supreme Court of New York Appellate Division Third Department. The alleged misconduct included misstating or making misleading statements about the law and facts of a case. The matter was essentially ignored by Judith Kaye of the Court of Appeals and thus the case went to Rosemary Pooler of the District court. Rosemary Pooler, who should have recused herself as the case involved someone who had business dealings with her and her daughter. Rosemary Pooler also misstated the facts and misled, and cited non-existent "facts" in order have a dismissal of a complaint of misconduct and leave the State judges in the clear. Thus in the end, one judge after another provided the legal cover for others.

It is now up to Sonia Sotomayor to explain why she did little or nothing to investigate the complaint against Rosemary Pooler, which was the domain of the second circuit court. The people of the United States deserve an explanation before we place Sonia Sotomayor on the United States Supreme Court.
