Move On

Liberals need to get over gun control. Move on or abolish the second amendment. I don't want to hear anymore whining bout it.

From Australia , the United States just seems like a nation of crazy gun-loving looneys who would rather shoot than think. Freedom isn't having a gun at your side. That's obligation and slavery to fear. The United States has had about fifty years as one ofthe worlds major powers shared with communist Russia. Now a twenty year period at the top is over, and the USA is a spent force, corrupt, money hungry, lazy, living on credit and other countries work. Good luck suckers.Keep your guns close, it's about all the effort you can make to feel in control of your lives. Freedom? You have no clue.

i believe that no matter what the citizens of this country do the democrats will always try to get rid of guns. even thought the statistics show that the more guns that citizens have crime goes down. the gun owners are screwed even more thought cause we have to many gun hating democrats in the government right now. i believe that there will always be someone out there that will one day get his way with guns, and if we dont do anything about it now obama and biden will be the two who get their way. i dont care that the democrats and other people say that he is pro gun, but all republicans now the truth that biden was the first one to impose gun laws on machine guns. plus the new medicine law obama is pushing to get socalized medicine wont work he doesnt have the money which means more taxes for us to help pay for healthcare. he also wants to tax the gun companies so its more expensive to buy guns and eventually they will go out of bussiness which will kill the economy and put many people out of work.but obama doesnt care as long as he gets his way hes fine. to me obama is a dictator but no one knows.

Change in Opinion?

The original statement here was something to the effect : " more people are coning around to the idea of less gun control.."

I don't disagree, but I must say I think there's been a huge percentage of law abiding gun owners out there ever since 1773, but we go ignored by the media. People who own guns are labeled as " wacko's " because they want to shut us up. I don't think it always used to be this way, but things have drastically changed in the last 30 years or so. I agree with the previous comment, let there be a Civil war. Let the Left find out just how many people are willing to fight! Especially since Liberals don't see a point in owning a gun! Lots of military men and police are gun owners themselves, so would be unwilling to go killing fellow freedom-lovers in their own homes... But let's be intelligent here... Obama and his cronies aren't that dumb. They know outright confiscation would be a blood bath. that's why there're going to strangle us little by little. THAT is why, my friends, we need to strongly oppose ALL gun control measures. They won't stop at 'one gun a month'. they won't stop at 'cartridge encoding'. BTW, all you have to do is pickup your brass when you're done, better yet, leave someone else's brass at the scene to really confuse law enforcement. Ever think of that?

The majority needs to speak and act like it. If Government does something unconstitutional, I don't see the need to comply with it. We have to draw a line in the sand, or we'll all be peasants living in some work camp named Obama-traz.

Real numbers

Real numbers mean little to those with the nanny state mentality. They throw out numbers of students killed or wounded by criminals with firearms. Never do they look at the number of people saved from a criminal by being armed and ready. And sadly, those killed in these massacres are killed because they are law abiding people in "gun free" zones. Free of good guys with guns, but wonderful targetrich areas for bad guys with guns. Most bad guys are cowards. They go after the unarmed. Those with the nanny state mentality are really providing the criminals with easy to attack prey.

Three things to watch, everlasting vigilance

There are at least three things that threaten our nation, foreign and domestic terrorists, criminals and those who would disarm law abiding Americans. The attempted disarmers are a more clear and present danger to our republic. The political deck is being stacked with highly pro gun control, anti-2nd amendment zealots, by their votes in various positions and their lack of regard for the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Asininity

Reading the numerous discussions re. gun control, a citizen from outer space would, in a short time, conclude that the majority of U. S. citizens are bereft of intelligence. "Let me see," says he to himself, "there was a near massacre at the school. "Eighteen students were killed by a criminal who had a gun. No student in that school had a gun with which to shoot back, because there is a law against their carrying firearms on school property. The law applied to the criminal, too, but, being a criminal, he didn't care. That's what criminals do, you know, they break laws. That is what puzzles me. How could any rational person believe that forbidding students from carrying guns would somehow prevent them from ever being shot? These Earth creatures sure are dim witted."

Gun Control

Call me paranoid, even but though they may never be able to enact a total ban on guns because of our constitutional rights, what's to stop them from banning say...ammunition? or making it illegal to discharge a firearm out side of a firing range? I'm playing the devil's advocate here, but I don't think it's totally out of the realm of possibility.

The "gun issue"

Gun control laws have never worked to reduce crime, and never will. There are no 'common sense' gun laws. Why? Bcause CRIMINALS, the people who use the guns in CRIMES don't give a damn about the law, hence the title 'criminal'.

Did you know that about 80% of gun crime is gang related?

Did you know that states with Concealed carry have lower crime rates than states that oppose the legislation?

Did you know that fully automatic weapons are already very difficult to obtain, requiring a lengthly FBI background check, a fee of $250 per year, and the purchase cost of the weapon, which ranges from $4000 dollars on up? How many criminals have a Class 3 liscense? The answer is 0. A class 3 holder has never committed a violent crime with a legally purchased weapon.

Did you know that the Clinton "Assault weapons ban" had NO effect on crime at all (FBI statistics)? In fact, crime dropped 3-5% in every state without a local ban in 2004, when the federal ban expired. The ban was based entirely on cosmetic features, not the way a weapon functioned. It banned an entire class of weapons because they look scary.

The anti-gun arguement is based on emotion, not facts.

BTW- Barack Obama stated that he would be in favor of renewing the failed assault weapons ban that I covered earlier. He has also supported legislation banning handguns in Chicago.
