Conservative Catholics Target Obama Aide

He's already under fire for planning to speak at the University of Notre Dame, and now President Obama is about to find himself facing calls to fire a faith-based adviser who slammed Pope Benedict XVI for "hurting people in the name of Jesus." Whispers hears that several conservative Roman Catholics will hold a conference call to press for the ouster of Harry Knox, a leader with the Human Rights Campaign, from the President's Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.
Brent Bozell of the Media Research Center, Bill Donohue of the Catholic League, and prominent conservative publisher Al Regnery plan to share a letter tomorrow to Obama signed by Catholic leaders urging him to remove Knox.
At issue is a statement Knox posted on the HRC site before getting his White House post that condemned the pope's comments on AIDS and condoms. Knox wrote: "The Pope's statement that condoms don't help control the spread of HIV, but rather condoms increase infection rates, is hurting people in the name of Jesus."
The call comes as Obama is facing some criticism from conservative Catholics angry that he is speaking at Notre Dame's commencement. A group of pro-Obama Catholics today set up a support website to make sure the speech stays scheduled.

Jack P of XX you're the ignoramous sir! Where is you ample HARD evidence to prove that condom usage exacerbates the HIV problem? You're just a little conceited calling the Catholic Church "Christ's Church" we're taught as catholics that it's the only religion but then that's what the Jews, Islam, Hindus and other religions all proport, so you have refutable evidence to back this up? You have a nerve say that "Obama is the world's leading anti-human-rights extremist" considering OUR pope was a member of the Nazi youth during the war. So before taking pot shots at everyone else and being so sure of yourself, look back at OUR history, the Spanish Inquisition wasn't very pretty. The Catholic Church didn't do anything about contradicting the Nazis during the war in fact they were complicit. Yes, I'm Catholic and yes there were many of our priests who are pedophiles (and I'm not talking gay or straight here). As you know too many priest preach politics from their pulpits. The Church does not tolerate women as priests. Frankly, you're the one talking without knowing what it is you're talking about. However, there are many moderates in the religion who are tolerant and free thinking. The word Catholic has pretty much the same meaning as communist as well.
