Supreme Court Justices Want a Workhorse to Replace Souter
By Paul Bedard, Washington Whispers
Supreme Court insiders reveal that unlike the press, Congress, and the public, the judges and their clerks are less interested in the politics of the next member to be nominated by President Obama than whether the person can handle the workload. "Can they pull the weight?" is how one insider described the main concern about Obama's choice to replace retiring Justice David Souter. Another issue on the bench: Will the new justice be easy to work with? While rookie judges usually aren't put in charge of many cases, the expectation that Obama could name three to four judges suggests that there will be a new judge on the bench fairly frequently, increasing the burden on the experienced members.

Oh, they won't be lazy....
.....I have every expectation that Obama will appoint an activist judge. He's used virtually those words himself. The Constitution in the hands of these people is meaningless. I rue the day this man was elected by the ignorant masses.
No Liberals, now
The only judge on the Supreme Court with some liberal tendencies is Souter. With his leaving I hope President Obama appoints someone like Souter who has a conscience and some compassion. An individual who keeps an open mind and does not think or operates according to party rule. We need someone who thinks for him/herself. The question should be...can the new appointee work with stuck in the mud, opinionated, uncompassionate, judges who cannot think for themselves but must look to others in order to write a ruling. I can only hope and pray for someone who is knowledgeable of the law and does not need someone to hold his hand while doing his job.
