Obama Steady and Very Strong at Day 100

Pollster John Zogby joins the Washington Whispers team to regularly update our new Obamameter. Each week, Zogby uses his polling, expert analysis, and interaction with major players to come up with a rating between 1 and 100. Unlike Zogby's scientific polls, the Obamameter is his judgment on the performance of the president once multiple factors are considered. In this week's Obamameter, Zogby looks at the president's first 100 days and gives him 95 out of 100.

"I have seen and read about many first 100 Days, and this has been a very good one. Barack Obama is in command. A new week, a new crisis. What's next—locusts? But since Hurricane Katrina, the federal government has been on trial, and he knows that the public demands action. He has signed 19 executive orders and marshaled 14 new pieces of legislation. And his polling numbers are high, while his opponents continue to drop and adhere to a strategy of isolation and rejection. As of Day 100, the president has a clear majority, has steered both the government and the public toward a new direction, and has been rewarded with a huge gift—Sen. Arlen Specter as a Democrat. So much of life for us baby boomer guys boils down to what we learned in Little League. Remember the guy who comes up to bat for the third time after he hit two homers and thinking 'he can't hit, he's just lucky'? That's today's Republican pundits arguing that Obama is overexposing himself, spending the U.S .to disaster, leading us to socialism. But he is still hitting homers."

This week's Obamameter Rating: 95.

Last week's rating: 93

I don't believe these statistics

No way do I believe that many Americans are that stupid. More and more people are realizing every day that Obama has socialism in mind for America and enthusiasm for him and him re-distribution is waning, not gaining.

media morons?

The media, since this abomination of presidency, is either on some sort of delusion meds, getting paid by nobama (with taxpayer money)to create false hype about him or they're just plain morons.

My bet is they're being paid, no one can be this stupid. Their real stupidty will be when the real info starts hitting in the pockets of the ignorant who follow media lies. Then when nobama reaches his downfall and public dissapproves severly, THE STUPID MEDIA will all be jobless and their SERVICE to the great one will become a joke in the history books. Good riddens fools!

What?

I have never seen the amount of cheerleading for a President from the press.

This guy is weak and has made mistake after mistake.

The press in this country has become a major joke, but more importantly it can't be trusted.
