Too little, too late?

Obama has moved US policy back to where it was in 1980. At that time the our country had achieved something approximate to zpg, and had made huge inroads in stemming the population explosion south of our border (which also had the effect of liberating women from the chains of machismo culture). But the new administration was advised that a new burst in south american population would supply a very cheap labor force that would fuel our own economic development. So after a decade of progress, the US pulled out of the annual Mexico City Summit. For better or worse, we can easily see the results of that radical change of policy.

a little late...

Note to authors,

The Global Gag Rule (i.e the Mexico City Policy) was reversed by Presidential memorandum on January 23rd.
