Pollster to GOP: Move Beyond Reagan

Down and almost out, the Republicans are looking for a fresh approach. Like: coming up with solutions to the nation's ills that sell better than the Democratic alternatives. A recent survey by the Winston Group's New Models shows that Democrats lead Republicans on most issues. Example: By 20 percentage points, Americans trust Democrats more than Republicans to fix the economy. "It's not about competing with Obama on personality; it's about focusing on rethinking the solutions," says David Winston, former director of planning for ex-Speaker Newt Gingrich. The pollster is pushing the GOP to move beyond Reaganism and reinvent modern conservative solutions to issues Americans care about, like jobs and healthcare. Republican leadership aides on the Hill say they're listening and will reveal a new lineup of ideas this spring when they present their energy and healthcare alternatives.

Paranoid much?

"There are more thieves than not and there are more liars than not."

"We" seem to lie a lot

Mart said: "We seem to forget the congress was Democrat while George W. Bush was in office"

So being in office for 25% of Bush's administration counts as the Congress being "Democrat"? Lie much?

Democrats in power during Bush

If my memory serves me correctly, the Democrats only had small majorities for two of the 8 years. They did not have 60 in the senate and if they did manage to get a bill they like passed, Bush could and did veto it. The Sunday shows had mostly Republicans on and according to Cheney, we all had to be careful what we said because there was a war or two on.

Bobbles Poll: Obama's Socialist Joke?

President Obama and "Oboker" bobbleheads for Washington Whispers. Bobbleheads provided by webobbles.com.

Shouts that President Obama is steering the nation and budget in a socialist manner have become so loud that now our bobble supplier has designed a "Socialist Obama" titled "OBOKER," a play off Heath Ledger's evil Joker who sought social upheaval in the The Dark Knight. Do you think that Obama's agenda is exactly what the country needs or a push into socialism?
