Washington Whispers by Paul Bedard

D.B. Cooper's Cold Case Turns Comical

When Special Agent Larry Carr took charge of perhaps the most celebrated crime since the Great Train Robbery, one thing was certain: The FBI wouldn't give him any resources to investigate the cold case. Searching for D. B. Cooper, the legendary larcenist who leapt from a passenger jet in 1971, wasn't high priority. No problem, because Carr inherited an army of amateur sleuths and bloggers enthralled by the case in which a man calling himself Dan Cooper boarded a plane bound from Portland, Ore., to Seattle. Claiming to have dynamite, he demanded parachutes and $200,000 and jumped out, never to be seen again. Now, 38 years later, a new clue: a series of 1950s and 1960s French graphic novels featuring Dan Cooper, a fictional Royal Canadian Air Force test pilot. One showed him jumping from a plane. Coincidence? Unlikely, suggests Carr, who thinks the real jumper stole the fictional ID. "Maybe Cooper was the kind of guy who collected these comics," Carr says.

He Lived!!!!!

Good afternoon.

Enough, already! The mystery is no longer a mystery.

Please, please, please, will someone take a look at a book called "Alive, Alaska"?

Briefly, the book is a comical look at the story (fictional? Not so, I say) of a young African-American named Roland David Hunter. The man was hard-work, determined, the true definition of a "law-abiding citizen"....yet, he was lonely beyond lonely, sad, depressed and suicidal.

He was close to taking his own life when God intervened.

Roland saved the life of a man that "rewarded" him with an all-expenses paid vacation to a very remote area of Alaska.

This had long been a dream of Roland's and it picked his spirits up, to put it mildly.

The story, however, is about what Roland discovered while on his fishing trip.

Roland had everything at his disposal, including transportation to explore the many lakes and streams in Alaska. Well, one morning he took a wrong turn, happily riding along until he came to the end of a road. The road was blocked by a long, long, fence.

Roland's curiosity was peaked, as there was no reason for a fence to be there in the first place.

Bravely, he got out and walked the length of the fence, praying that he didn't run into any bears.

What he came across was a slew of beautiful mansions on this enclosed property, exclusive and very secluded from prying eyes.

There were (are) some very interesting people living in this area.

But, the owner of this wide expanse had been there since the early seventies. He bought the property dirt cheap, paid cash for it, had two homes built for himself, fenced the place in, then opened it up to others just as reclusive as himself.

The people that moved in are all stories by themself.

But the name of the owner of that area, aptly named "Alive, Alaska"?

Mr. D.B. Cooper.

That's right. Mr. D.B. Cooper.

That was in the mid to late nineties. Is he still alive? No telling. You'd have to ask a very happy Roland David Hunter, who moved up to "Alive, Alaska" at the request of the residents.

You see, these are some very famous people who "should" be dead. They've "died" young or suspiciously, then somehow relocated to "Alive, Alaska".

Roland discovered this little secret and he knew that he'd found the goldmine of all stories.

But, that's why you need to read the book

Please go to mountainmistproductions.com, or Google the book, "Alive, Alaska".

Trust me, it's not just another fantasy.

Thank you.

38th Anniversay -

It will soon be 38 yrs since Cooper made his jump on November 24, 1971. How much more co-incidental information does the wife of Suspect Duane L. Weber have to drop at the feet of the FBI before they seriously examine the background of Weber?

She has provided to them a witness - they did not bother to interview until 7 yrs later when he walked into the Portland FBI office - but, were aware of him since 2001.

Ms Weber has provide leads to a period of Weber's life the FBI never investigated. Weber had strong ties to CA. and the Camino CPS Camps in and around Placerville, but the FBI refused to even give it a cursory look - she has placed this at their feet for over 10 yrs now insistent of his ranger training. Since Weber used many alias unknown to his wife - she recently requested the FBI to provide her with names of suspects that were called into the FBI around 1971- 1973. They declined to do so.

This woman has be persistent and dogmatic in her search - but, recently someone associated with one of our great Universities in this Country - and another person in the CA area have joined the chase and now even MORE co-incidents are POPPING up - things the FBI did not look for. The FBI has refused to make the files available except to a priveleged few - and only one of the individuals was associated with a suspect.

It stands to reason the researcher or family members of a suspect will spot a clue if it is in that file. There are non-FBI individuals out there who have done research on Cooper and have far more knowledge of this "Sad man" or "joker" than the turn-over of the agents in this 38 yrs period.

What if the name of a suspect was provide early on in the investigation - but, it was a alias of a suspect unknown to the FBI or anyone else? When the FBI checked on the name - the indiviudal may have been dead, he may have had an alibi, he may not have resembled Cooper, the identiy may have been used 25 yrs or more before the crime. This may have been one of the Most Famous of all Identity Thefts, because Maybe the Only Unsolved Skyjacking has gone Unsolve, because the FBI never conceived the idea of Identiy Theft occuring 25 yrs before the crime itself?

Cooper Child-like of the 200K

The Stewardess said that when the money was delivered to the plane the Cooper became child-like offering one of them money which was turned down. The suspect Duane Weber had this same child-like reaction to things with a mischievous grin that was unforgettable. I wonder if either Stewardesa - Tina Mucklow or Florence Shaffner remember that mischievous grin - or did the remember his throwing his lip down on one side with a pout like expression to show he meant business.

The artist who did the composites tried unsuccessfully to capture the motion, but was never able to bring it across. The redo's of the original 1971 composite look nothing like the 1st composite. The composites that never made it to the Wanted List - did show this action relative well - but the FBI chose for 37 yrs to use the old Bing Crosby composite none of the witnesses accepted.

WHY? When the witnesses sat down with the artist they were more relaxed than during their initial questioning by the FBI and had started to collect their thought...one would think the later composites to be more accurate.
