Rush Limbaugh Vs. Michael Steele: Is Steele Asking for a Rush Attack?
By Paul Bedard, Washington Whispers
Newly installed Republican Party Chairman Michael Steele is drawing sneers from some GOP advisers for his rap on outspoken conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh. In a CNN interview, he called Limbaugh's approach "incendiary" and "ugly" and dubbed him simply an entertainer. "Steele is playing with fire," said one longtime Republican adviser close to House Republicans and both Bush families. Of concern is that Steele, the party's first black chairman, will be attacked by Limbaugh and other talk show hosts, further splitting the party.
It began today already when radio talk show hostess Laura Ingraham took a shot at Steele, who in his CNN interview said this about Limbaugh: "Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer. Rush Limbaugh—his whole thing is entertainment. Yes, it's incendiary. Yes, it's ugly." Republicans are concerned that a feud between the national party and conservative talk radio would upset donors, who would stop giving to the party. "One possible outcome is that giving by the base, sickly for the last few years, could get even worse," said a key GOP donor. Steele's supporters, however, say that he is not trying to pick a fight with conservative radio and is just trying to counter Democratic charges that Limbaugh—who has engaged in a verbal war with President Obama—is the de facto boss of the party. He is also trying to put the word out there that the GOP is open to other viewpoints.
Party spokesman Alex Conant, meanwhile, said the real fight is between the White House, especially Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, and Limbaugh. "Rahm Emanuel and the Democrats know they lose an argument with the Republican Party on substance, so they are building straw men to attack and distract," he told Whispers. "The feud between radio host Rush and Rahm makes great political theater, but it is a sideshow to the important work going on in Washington. RNC Chairman Michael Steele and elected Republicans are focused on fighting for reform and winning elections. The Democrats' problem is that the American people are growing skeptical of the massive government spending being pushed by congressional leaders like Nancy Pelosi."

living in America
I am so grateful to be living in a country where we can openly debate each other on issues that we are passionate about. And I am a Rush fan.I don't agree with all of his statements and ideas, but I have a profound respect for him. He is well read and educated, and he is passionate enough to put himself out there, to stand up for what he belives in. I have researched some of the facts and figures he uses on his show, and he is usually spot on.You can also do the same, or just continue to believe main stream media sources which I have found to be biased (on both sides.) Instead of complaining about what Rush is saying, educate yourself and find out what is really true and going on in this world. You will find that you have an impact on all around you when your beliefs are grounded in real truth....That is exactly why Rush is an effective radio host...
rush story
if Rush Limbaugh is so motivated to serve (teach) Americans especially the republicans who are known for ignorance about the world issues not to mention domestic issues as well; which, strongly related to welfare, justice and national economy. i am very glad to take up his challenge on the behalf of president Obama.
i will be glad to entertain rush on specific topic if he chooses otherwise my preference will be economy. I strongly believe rush Limbaugh and his poor vision and cowardliness to face fair economic concepts in early 2000 has caused the current economic catastrophic.
GOP or is that PIG
You supporters and writers of the GOP, Please take your Rush and put him up you GOP Rush rears!
Bush and the rest of the GOP gave over $2 trillion dollars of tax break to the upper 10% (rich pigs), yet you all are having a pig fit on $1 trillion of needed help going to 90% of the people--up yours!
Now that the GOP have taken 85% of the income and wealth of the country from 60% of all Americans from the 1970s to the upper 10% today---May I suggest that this upper 10% along with there GOP paid pig feeder all be sent to fight in the mid-east---we will win since the mid-east people would not like to die at the hands of PIGs or is that GOPs.
The Government and every company sets salary range of workers, office and blue collar from labor to professionals, yet the upper elite have none. When pensions and retirement medical are taken away from 99% of workers in companies the upper 1% needed many millions of dollars---just pigs taken care of the other pigs on the farm.
Look at USA today---Because salaries and benefits fall below the 1970 level based on real 2002 to 2009 dollars. Hope all real Americans stop buying with credit and stop the country supporting the banks and their PIG investors with our tax dollars. May I suggest all to read the Ford story-- pay worker high salaries so they can buy our product!
No more of our middle/lower-class sons should go to any war, just the upper 10%--see how fast peace in the World will come about!
