Washington Whispers by Paul Bedard

Mike Huckabee Plays it Straight on Fox News

By Paul Bedard, Washington Whispers.

As a presidential candidate, conservative Mike Huckabee always had a joke or a dig ready. But now, as host of Fox's Huckabee, he's playing it straight. And it's working. His angle: Stay calm, be respectful, and anybody will go on the air. "I've enjoyed having guests on the show who normally won't do Fox," says Huck. Guests like liberals Bill Maher, Richard Dreyfuss, and Oliver Stone. "My philosophy is I take the words 'guest' and 'host' very seriously. And to me, host implies a certain level of civility and hospitality, and if you have a guest you treat them as such and you would expect them to behave as such," says the Republican. "And if you do, you can have people with varied points of view." But TV's not his future. He's still looking at a 2012 presidential run and is traveling the world to polish his foreign-policy skills.

Are you listening Mike Huckabee?

On the Huckabee show, interview experts on the new bases in

Syria/Lebanon where the Russians are putting fighter jets.

Ask the question, how long is America going to do nothing,

while the Iran and Russia corners Israel? 2ndly, If He wants to run

in 2012, He needs to spend time in Califorina building a new

party there. Michael Steele will be of little help bringing

the conservatives any rallying leader. I would like to see him and Mitt Romney team up and hold rallies and teach old fashion

conseratism to a state hurting for change. Also back canidates

that can defeat NancyP and Barbabra B. Califorina needs some

midwest values if they ever plan to live in the black again.

Mike Huckabee

We really appreciate this fine man here in Tenn. I don't know if a truly godly and honest man can ever make it to the White House or not. Most Americans, I'm sorry to say, would rather be entertained by Hollywood freaks.

What is this? $1.5billion bailout for abortion industry.

I would like Mr. Huckabee's input on this.
