Former Pressies Warn President-Elect Obama Not to Go Crazy on Web

Missile Shield Deployment
George McAvoy, I have edited and sent your sentiments to the President-elect's website, Change.Gov . I think you will find that Obama will forge a pragmatic policy based on international dialogue and common goals. I agree with your plea to de-militarize, and I think Obama shares that objective save for the hunt for Osama bin Laden.
PS. we dont need congress, either
We dont have to take a horse and buggy three days to get to Washington.
The entire ideal of REPRESENTATIVES is a throw back to another era.
We are all on the steps of the Greek ideal. We are all citizens and our voices can be heard, via the internet.
whip makers warn, dont use cars
Gosh, press people speak against using the internet. What next, oil companies speaking against alternative fuels?
Thanks.
Once again with the old guys
Here, again, you have a bunch of OLD men, trying to make policy, the OLD WAY. Still with the 20th century mentality.
This is a new day and new time and there needs to be NEW ways to do things.
New Media Vehicles for a New Era
Obama's use of the internet reflects the radical changes that traditional tv and news are facing. Decentralization and taking the messaging out of the hands of the powerful few can only be a good thing.
I agree with the above post: too much secrecy for too long with the meek or egotistical media retuning or filtering messages from the White House.
Direct democracy levels the playing field for freedom of speech for all.
Deployment of missle shield in Poland & Czech Republic
I would be very grateful if you could ensure this gets to President Elect Barack Obama's Office as I can't get onto his site without a US zip code and I am emailing from Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Thank you in anticipation.
Many congratulations President Elect Barack Obama on winning the Presidential Election 2008 and on your smart move of appointing Hilary Clinton as Secetary of State and we wish you every success with your plans for "change"
As a Scotsman and as part of the European Community, I would however strongly ask you to reconsider the Bush policy of deploying an America Missile Shield on the very door-step of Russian and thereby posing a percieved threat to Russia and in turn to the whole of Europe should there be a conflict and Russia launches a pre-emptive strike on Western Europe. I, and many Europeans simply fail to see the need for this perceived act of American Military aggression. We are hoping you will reduce the very Global American Military aggression and to reach out to the World in a totally different moderate tone as opposed to that which Bush has conducted and hence the Global anti-American hatered created, causing the radicalisation of very young extreme terrorists which is certainly not helped by his very aggresive War Mongering. I would remind all Americans of the situation many decades ago when the then Communist Russia attempted to deploy their Missile Shield on Cuba and I seem to recall Kennedy threatened them with a Nucular attack if Russia did not back down, which they obviously did. I think this 21st Century Military aggression by America on Russia door-step is just as threating to their Nation and as I have said,I just fail to understand America's justification. Please at least re-consider your Defence Strategy on this threating International Policy.
We in Britain look forward from across the "Pond" to the development of your "change" policies over the next four years and wish you every good luck.
Kind regards from a very wintery Scotland. George McAvoy ~~

Accessible presidents lead to good policy.
Look at the last 8 years of nary a televised address, and the ruinous policies that came in tandem.
If you want the government to actually be for and by the people, this is a good start.
