Disgusting and insulting to Americans
This is demeaning to the office of President and to the nation as a whole. The milk-bone magnates trying to use the highest office of the nation as an advertising gimmick is disgusting. The President Elect should politely tell them where to get off. The bones and some of the profits of the company should be sent to animal rescue organizations.

The first family can afford to buy their own dog treats. Mike Bone should be donating treats and/or food to the not-for-profit animal shelters that have ha hard tim making ends meet. I for one will NOT buy Mike Bone products becasue of this outrageous stunt.

How can you point the finger at Milkbone assuming that they don't give gifts to local shelters and the like? Maybe they do. It's sad how quick people are to point the finger at someone else. What's stopping you from giving to the local shelter you want Milkbone to donate to?

Why is it that most comments on anything tend to either be an attempt at stand up humor or immediately negative. I tire of all the comments left on stories which are downright rude or complaining because the world's problems were not cured by someone's gratuitous actions.
Ask the puppy later when it gets in the White House if the gesture was hollow.

Here is an idea: before everyone jumps on this bandwagon maybe some people should check their facts instead of being ignorant. Has anyone looked to see what Milkbone or their parent company do donate to charities? I didn't think so. They actually donate quite a bit already, to the tune of around a million anualy, certainly a lot more than any of you I'm sure.
Now obviously it is a PR stunt. But so what? Don't you people have anything better to do complain about? As for myself, I am much happier knowing the White House will be filled with Milkbone than a buch of evil morons like the last 8 years.

How dare Milkbone donate a lifetime of bones for the white house puppy. Does the Presidential dog really need "free bones? I'm quite sure the White House can afford their own dog biscuits. Shame on you Milkbone.... why not celebrate your anniversary by giving a nice cash donation in honor of the Presidental Dog to a local animal shelter instead.

the 1st dog is still a dog, which need usual food. maybe the 1st dog will be not happy to always get special milk bone, which is not his taste.

I agree about giving to the shelters,it's okay for a welcome basket for the new first puppy, but the other should go to the elderly and handicapped who have dogs that are their best friends.They can't always afford to treat their pets like they want to! I know, cause i am handicapped and i will go without myself to take care of my Special Fourlegged Friend! Lots of different ways to give. Thank you to all who are interested enough to speak up! The best to the new puppy, may he have a great life, and lots of love!
